A woman has left the internet in outrage after speaking out about the horrifying new concert etiquette she experienced from those around her at Maggie Rogers’ Hollywood Bowl show.
Kendall Lord, from Los Angeles, California, was so excited to see one of her favorite artists perform this past weekend, but unfortunately she said the night was “ruined” after sitting next to “the rudest people ever.”
According to the music lover, she could barely hear Maggie perform because people “gossiped” and “talked over the music” instead of paying attention to what was happening on stage.
She said they “complained” non-stop and that she was the only person in her section who danced and sang along to the tunes.

Kendall called the crowd’s behavior extremely “disrespectful” and said that in the end it felt like the concert was a “waste of her time and money.”
She spoke out about it TikTok and it quickly went viral, garnering tens of thousands of views and sparking a slew of comments from people dissatisfied with her experience.

“Last night I went to see Maggie Rogers at the Hollywood Bowl. It was my birthday present to myself, I spent my money, bought my ticket and went alone,” Kendall shared in the clip.
“I know my problem is so minimal compared to everything else that is happening in the world, but I was very upset. It was the worst concert experience I’ve ever had.’
She said the problems started before Maggie took the stage – and that they started when the opening band, Alvvays, performed.
“I couldn’t hear a single word of what they were saying because people were talking so loud all the time. Not a single person clapped,” she recalled.
Kendall said she hoped things would “get better” when Maggie came, as people are often “disrespectful” to opening performers, but the situation didn’t improve all night.
“Maggie literally called the crowd out because no one stood up, no one gave her any energy,” she continued.

“The energy was so terrible. The people behind me even got angry that I got up. Like, why are you here? Go home if you want to ruin it for everyone around you.

“I saw Leon Bridges at the Bowl last year and it was so sad. No one sang or even stood. A lot of people left early, I felt so bad,” said another user.
The video even caught the attention of Maggie, who covered the ordeal in a comment.

In a follow-up video, Dondrea said that while she “understands” that people “feel entitled to do whatever they want” at a concert because they paid for their ticket, there is an unspoken set of rules that fans are expected to follow.
“Obviously it’s an exchange, a relationship. The artist performs and the audience thanks, praises, they cheer,” she said.
‘If the audience doesn’t participate or contribute, the artist senses it. They can feel it.’
She encouraged those who go to shows but aren’t fans of the artist to still try to “dance and have fun” so it doesn’t feel “uncomfortable” for the artist.
