MAGA-hat wearing Trump loyalist says she was discriminated against in first class on American Airlines flight

A conservative journalist has claimed she was discriminated against on an American Airlines flight because of her ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.

Self-employed reporter Heather Mullins broadcast the alleged saga on X Sunday, after a first-class trip from Detroit to Philadelphia.

She claimed that an unnamed female flight attendant skipped her when taking drink orders, and when asked about it, responded mockingly.

The former insurance broker goes on to describe how she finally got her drink, but only after everyone else.

She then shared the story with her more than 111,000 followers – all of whom she amassed over seven years of posting pro-Trump content. One from last April shows her showing off a MAGA cap on another flight. The airline has not yet commented.

“I’ve worn my MAGA hat every time I flew for the past four years and got thousands of fist bumps. I have NEVER had any hate,” Mullins’ post begins.

‘Well, there’s a first time for everything.

“I just had the @AmericanAirlines flight attendant SKIP ME in first class when she asked everyone if they wanted a drink!!”

The woman who first tried to report seven years ago after working on presidential candidate Gary Johnson’s failed 2016 campaign continued: “She asked the man next to me and then walked away. I thought it was strange that she didn’t ask me.

“So when she came back, I asked her if I could get something to drink, and in the meanest voice she said, ‘No. I’ll be right back for you,” and continued serving the people behind me.

“They were in shock at the time,” she claimed. ‘I was the last to be served.

“And now everyone on the plane is floored and talking about it.”

The post quickly racked up more than 2 million views and received a slew of comments.

Several asked for more insight into the alleged situation, and Mullins agreed.

“I’m honestly in shock,” she wrote at one point, a few minutes after the initial update.

“It’s sad that this just happened in America. But so grateful for all the lovely people around me who said how terrible it was that she had done that to me. She’s an anomaly. Most people aren’t like that.’

Within two hours, another post arrived in which Mullins described how she had reportedly tried to file a complaint with the airline but was met with red tape.

DailyMail.com has reached out to American for comment.

“I tried to file a complaint during my layover,” the reporter wrote around 8:54 PM ET, in a post that has also been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

“The first woman told me to call a supervisor. The supervisor told me it would take over an hour to get a manager and get to the website.

‘When I tried to take her instructions, she got angry and called a customer service manager.

“He then called an ‘inflight’ manager or something, who said they couldn’t come down.

“I was given the CSR manager’s business card and told to fill out a report on the website that he wrote on the back,” Mullins claimed.

When onlookers suggested the alleged stupidity would see the woman fired, Mullins shared the flight number and route. She also revealed the unnamed female employee’s unique employer ID before describing her as “an older Asian woman.”

The next morning, she shared her final briefing on the yet-to-be-substantiated saga, once again recalling how she tried to file a complaint at an American Airlines kiosk.

However, this post contained a video.

“So I’m not allowed to take your instructions on how to file this complaint?” she asks several staffers behind the desk in the 12-second clip.

They don’t respond immediately, leaving Mullins with a confused “okay?” before ending the clip

“When I tried to file a complaint, I got the resolution,” she wrote in an accompanying caption

‘Eventually I was told to go to the website. I will do that today, but I have no confidence that anything will be done.”

That post was published at 7 a.m. ET and no follow-up has surfaced at the time of writing. American has not responded to Mullins’ tagged complaints, which are quickly gaining traction online.

Mullins, a former insurance broker based in New England, first rose to prominence in 2017 after he began working as a reporter at News2Share, a D.C.-based outfit founded by a former Fox News reporter.

She worked there for two years while amassing a following on social media, before joining the alt-right outlet RealAmericasVoice — a site known for its conservative-backed conspiracy theories.

In April last year, she struck out on her own and was still posting pro-Trump content. Her LinkedIn lists her as self-employed, and her social media has essentially become a fan page for the former president.

“MAGA hat stays on… Pass it on…” she writes in another hat post from March, once again proudly wearing the cap.

American did not immediately respond to a DailyMail.com request for comment on the alleged incident on Monday morning.
