Married At First Sight’s Andrea Thompson has opened up about losing 30lbs due to her struggles with ‘anxiety’ since her time on the reality TV show.
The professional photographer, 51, rose to fame during the 2024 series of the Channel Nine dating experiment, where she ‘married’ love interest Richard Sauerman.
Despite initially appearing to be the perfect match, they began to clash and struggled to see eye to eye during arguments, leading to their eventual breakup.
Now Andrea has opened up about the toll the show took on her, as she admitted she has struggled with ‘anxiety’ since filming the programme.
She took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to host a Q&A for fans, where she was asked about her weight loss and body transformation.

When asked about her weight loss ‘secret’, Andrea told how she has lost 13kg since her on-screen wedding, but admitted this was largely due to anxiety and stress.
She explained: ‘I’ve lost about 30 pounds since the wedding. Unfortunately, a lot of that was fear, but I’ve been taking gym classes for a year and a half now.’
Andrea’s friend also recently spoke about the star’s fitness regime and the anxiety she felt about the show airing.
“Andrea has been going to the gym for over a year, she lost five kilos on the show, and the rest can be put down to anxiety before the show airs,” a source recently told Ny Breaking Australia.
Elsewhere in the Q&A, Andrea once again shut down speculation that she is dating her co-star Timothy Smith.

Timothy was paired with Lucinda Light in the 11th series of MAFS, but they decided to just be friends on the show and remain close to this day.
Timothy has also been spending time with Andrea in recent weeks and she even stayed over at his house, leaving fans convinced they were dating.
However, both Timothy and Andrea shut down the rumors, claiming that they are just good friends.
During the Q&A, Andrea was again hit with questions about her bond with Timothy, and shared a video in which she emphasized that they will never be “intimate.”
Elsewhere in the Q&A, Andrea also once again shut down speculation that she is dating her co-star Timothy Smith after they spent time together in recent weeks.
She said, “Man, I’ve never had so many questions about a Tim and I thing and people not believing we’re friends.
‘Tim reminds me of my brother. From the first minute I met him, he looked just like my brother, so I understood him, I got him.
‘I have to tell you that I don’t want to get intimate with someone who reminds me of my brother! So Tim and I won’t be intimate, we won’t kiss on the lips.
‘He’s one of my best friends and has helped me through some pretty tough times lately. I love him, but not him.’

Timothy previously addressed the romance rumors after Andrea stayed at his home and insisted they slept in different bedrooms.
‘Andrea came to visit me. She was actually planning to visit Lucinda, and she crashed at my house,” he explained.
‘She and her daughter stayed in my room, I plopped down on the couch. Andie has an amazing heart and soul.”
Andrea previously said the “best part of the experiment” for her was the lifelong friends she has made with some of the cast, including Timothy’s ex Lucinda.
