Luke Littler apparently posted a message on Snapchat just ten minutes before heading into the crowds at the World Darts Championship final.
A screenshot has emerged from what appears to be Littler's Snapchat account, showing the dartboard where he made his final preparations before heading to Ally Pally.
In the post, Littler wrote: “Too many messages you see in 10 minutes.”
With a world title and £500,000 on the line, many top athletes would swear to disconnect from social media and focus solely on the task at hand.
But Littler has proven in this tournament that he is made of a different breed, cutting an astonishingly relaxed and nonchalant figure in the face of fame and fortune.
Fans were incredulous on social media, with one writing: “Like he's just posting stuff ten minutes before a world final,” adding a laughing emoji for good measure.
The pressure and expectation of fans around the world seemed to rest easily on his shoulders.
Littler became the youngest darts player ever to reach the world finals after beating 2018 champion Rob Cross in the semi-finals.
