- Gerwyn Price defeated Luke Littler 8-1 in the final of the 2024 Australian Darts Masters
- Littler’s only leg came after Price had won the first five in Wollongong
- The 17-year-old reacted to winning that stage by celebrating sarcastically and exuberantly
Luke Littler was defeated by Gerwyn Price in the final of the 2024 Australian Darts Masters on Saturday.
The 17-year-old skater had a decent weekend overall, beating Rob Modra, Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh on his way to the final.
However, he was beaten 8-1 by Price, who took home the trophy and the top prize of £20,000 – double the amount Littler earned.
Littler did not play particularly badly in the final, finishing with an average of 94.24. But Price stormed into a 5-0 lead before Littler secured his only leg.
Price, known for his exuberance, is one of darts’ greatest players, but Littler did his best to match the Welshman… even if he had far less to celebrate.
