Luka Doncic breaks Mavericks record by scoring 73 POINTS in their win over the Hawks to continue NBA’s scoring explosion… as Devin Booker puts up 62 of his own for the Suns

Luka Doncic set a Mavericks record Friday night when he scored 73 points in a virtuoso performance, leading his team to a 148-143 victory over the Hawks.

Doncic blew past his personal and team record of 60 points with the help of eight 3-pointers and 15 made free throws.

He shot 75.8 percent overall from the field, becoming the first NBA player ever to score 70+ on shooting above 75 percent.

“It was beautiful,” Doncic said.

His record-setting night came just four days after Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid scored a franchise-record 70 points, and on the same night as a 62-point performance from Devin Booker in a Suns loss.

Karl Anthony-Towns also scored 62 in a loss at Minnesota earlier this week.
