Just one night after winning a soccer match in Washington, NWSL star Trinity Rodman was in New York on Monday to catch tennis star friend Ben Shelton’s first-round win over Tallon Greekpoor.
The 24 year old daughter of N.B.A Legend Dennis Rodman, Trinity has been a regular at Shelton games for the past year and a half while balancing her own career with the Washington Spirit.
This time she was spotted in a colorful polo rugby shirt, laughing with a friend in the stands. At one point, Rodman showed a “peace” sign to leering photographers.
Meanwhile, eighth-seeded Shelton got off to a poor start at the 2026 US Open, dropping the first set to his unseeded challenger, 6-1. Shelton would fight back to win the second set by the same score, before winning the third in a tiebreak and the fourth 6–2.
Clearly, he isn’t the only successful athlete in the relationship.
Rodman’s Spirit is currently ranked second in the NWSL and if all goes according to plan, it will be Shelton who will see her play for a championship in November.

As for their relationship, it got off to an awkward start with some cringeworthy direct messages. During a recent interview on Kylie Kelce’s ‘Not Gonna Lie’ podcast, Rodman revealed that it was she who made the first move against 23-year-old Shelton.
‘Everything I do is just embarrassing. I’m really embarrassed,” Rodman said. “I said, ‘You’re sick, fire emoji’, that was it… It worked, he responded within 10 minutes, so I won.”
Shelton’s response was equally weak, according to Rodman, but they decided to meet anyway.
“He matched the cringe situation, and I think we met in person a week or two later,” she added.
It’s been a successful season for Rodman in Washington, where she recently signed a record three-year extension that will pay her $1 million annually. It makes her the highest-paid player in the league’s history and, according to her agent Mike Senkowski of Upper 90 Sports Group, the highest-paid player in the world.

Rodman did not score in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Bay FC, but she is finally healthy after struggling with injuries in recent years. Rodman currently ranks fifth in scoring with ten goals in 22 games this season and fifth in assists with five this year.
“I still try my best not to let my body throw around like I used to,” she says told ESPN. But I am not only very happy with the success I have had and the goals I have scored, but also with my availability.
‘I have played almost every minute this season. So just to be able to turn that around from barely playing last season to then coming this season and being able to be on the field the whole time, I think I’m just really happy. And I make sure my body stays good so I can stay on the field.
‘But yes, I am very happy with the new and improved version of myself. I’m the same Trin, but I’ve only improved small parts of my game.’
