Louis Vuitton has caused a social media storm over its knee-high boots that are made to resemble real human legs.

The French luxury brand has described the $2,470 Illusion High Boots as the 'standout look' of their autumn-winter show – and fans couldn't agree more.

The striking footwear is shaped to resemble the lower half of a real human leg, complete with a white Louis Vuitton sock and a black high-heeled pump, and is offered in two different skin tones.

Available in knee-high or ankle lengths, the boots are made from calfskin and can be worn by simply pulling down a zipper on the side to ensure an easy fit.

TikTok fashion maker Isabelle Allain got her hands on the boots and shared a review of them

She deemed them the 'ultimate Polly Pocket boots' and chose to style them in a range of black skirts, both mini and midi lengths.

The bizarre creation has divided fans, with some praising its ingenuity while others called it a 'mistake' by the designer.

The new design is produced in Italy and is made of supple calf leather.

It features a hand-painted 'illusion' of a black shoe and a ribbed sock with the LV logo.

Fashion influencer Isabelle Allain, best known as @izzipoopitook to TikTok to try on the trending boots.

The content creator, who recently attended New York Fashion Week, shared an unboxing video on her page, which has since gone viral.

“I bought boots with integrated calves (sic),” Isabelle said, before adding: “I haven't been this excited in a long time.”

The fashion expert could barely contain her excitement as she unveiled the precious boots and held them up to the camera.

The LV boots received some strong opinions, with one person stating: 'This must be a joke'

Her review caught the attention of millions of viewers who, for the most part, didn't seem to share her enthusiasm.

People were quick to point out the exorbitant price of the boots, while others declared that the high-end brand had made a costly mistake.

Another point of contention is the issue of inclusivity. Because the boots resemble a real human leg, questions have been raised about how the brand handles the complexities of color and skin tone.

One person wrote: 'I love them but I would like to say 'even Louis Vuitton makes mistakes.'

“Did you pay money for this?” asked another.

“Three thousand dollars for that is insane,” a third suggested.

One user put it on a priority list, writing: 'I can't afford to pay for my electricity.'

Meanwhile, one person noticed the similarity to the famous footwear of movie character Mrs. Doubtfire.
