A California woman thought she was having a good day after thinking she’d won $2,000 on a lottery scratch card – but she was stunned to discover she’d actually won a whopping $2 million.

Ruby Evans, from Compton, bought the winning Instant Prize Crossword Scratchers ticket from Sweet Time Donuts.

Evans scratched the ticket in her car outside the store, thinking she had won $2,000, but was shocked to find three extra zeros at the end of the actual number when she took the card to be scanned.

Amazingly, this isn’t Evans’ first win, as the lottery enthusiast also won $100,000 on a scratch card in 2013.

But her luck didn’t end there β€” she won another $5,000 on another ticket after becoming a millionaire, lottery officials said.

Sweet Time Donuts will also receive a $10,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket

Sweet Time Donuts also got lucky with the win, earning $10,000 for the sale of the winning ticket.

β€œLet me tell you what, this is a great blessing. It’s given me the chance to pay off my bills and my mortgage and help my daughters,” Evans told the California Lottery. ‘I’m having fun.’

Evans also revealed that her fellow customers at the donut shop tease her about the many lucky wins.

“They say ‘Ruby, haven’t you won enough? Save some winners for all of us,” she told the Lottery.

Evans said she will continue to play the Lottery, especially the Crossword Scratchers.

Another California Lottery winner was also announced Thursday, with Job Acquire winning $2 million at 76 Studio City on Ventura Boulevard.

That company will also receive a $10,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.

Proceeds from the California Lottery that are not given out as prizes go to additional funding for California public schools.

The money the Lottery transferred to public education totaled about $2 billion in fiscal year 2021-2022.

Funding is largely discretionary, meaning schools can use the money for important, but unfunded instructional programs they otherwise couldn’t afford.
