This is the shocking moment a Los Angeles man drops his 7-month-old puppy over the edge of an apartment stairwell. The dog miraculously survived, but suffered serious injuries.
Joeboury Coleman, 27, was arrested Sunday and is now facing animal cruelty charges. He was being held without bail Tuesday, the LAPD said.
Police were alerted by “concerned citizens” who saw the disturbing footage on social media, which shows a shirtless Coleman grabbing the dog by the neck and throwing him down the stairs.
When police went to Coleman’s apartment complex, located at 4000 Oakwood Avenue in the Koreatown neighborhood, he was apprehended in an alley, ABC7 reported.

“Concerned citizens provided information about videos posted to social media that showed a dog being abused at the location, including being kicked and thrown down a staircase on the top floor by a man,” the LAPD said in a press release.
According to a report, the dog ran back upstairs after the horrific abuse.
When officers returned to Coleman’s apartment and confirmed it was the same dog seen in the video, he was arrested.
Miraculously, the unnamed female survived despite having a broken hind leg. Surgery may be necessary.
Police also noted that the puppy was malnourished.
Last month, an Alabama man and a minor were charged with animal cruelty after a video went viral showing them using a missing dog as target practice.
According to Sheriff Jonathon Horton of Etowah County, Alabama, officers received a tip on social media on June 29 about a puppy being abused. Detectives searched for the suspect that same day and seized the weapon.
Coleman was arrested Sunday and is now facing animal cruelty charges and is being held without bail, the LAPD said.
The viral clip shows the dog Bullet, who has been missing for some time by his owner, tied to a tree as one of the suspects shoots at him.
In July 2023, THomas Hardy, 32, punched his Cockapoo five times before choking her, pinning her chest between his legs and swinging her around by the neck.
In one clip, he is seen throwing the terrified Cockapoo into an elevator, kicking her and then smashing the security camera.
In another incident ten days later, Hardy was seen grabbing another dog by the neck and then forcibly putting him on a leash, dropping him to the ground and pulling him off his front legs.
He pleaded guilty to two charges: causing unnecessary suffering by blunt force, physical assault and intimidating behaviour.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for both offences, 24 months of which was suspended, at his sentencing in April.
He was also not allowed to keep animals for twelve years.
