Logan Paul’s popular Prime energy drink contains almost DOUBLE the legal caffeine limit, but can be sold in Australia thanks to a loophole

Logan Paul’s Prime Energy Drink contains nearly double the amount of caffeine allowed in drinks sold in Australia.

The 27-year-old American YouTube star’s energy drink has 56mg of caffeine per 100ml, while the maximum amount allowed in drinks sold nationwide is 32mg.

However, Australian retailers are still allowed to sell it due to a technicality. The drink has been classified as a “dietary supplement” and is therefore not subject to standard caffeine limits.

The energy drink, which comes in a variety of flavors, has quickly flown off shelves across the country, with signed bottles selling for thousands of dollars online.

Paul and his business partner KSI have been marketing it to young people with modern advertising and a social media campaign, in which athletes enter the boxing ring wearing Prime drink costumes.

Professor Ben Desbrow, a dietitian at Griffith University, said the energy drink posed risks for young people who drank it regularly.

‘One of these drinks on rare occasions by itself is fine. But that’s not the typical way they’re consumed and certainly not the way young people consume them,” he said. The Sydney Morning Herald.

Paul recently visited Australia with his YouTuber partner KSI to promote the drink.

Putting on a fake Australian accent, Logan told his 24.8 million Instagram followers: ‘Listen up here you little dungarees. We’re coming to Australia, KSI and I, to launch Prime in Australia and we’re going [to do] a meeting in Perth.

“We’re also going to Sydney on February 13th. You haven’t tried Prime in Australia yet, and when you do, it will blow your mind!”

The energy drink created by influencers-turned-boxers has become incredibly popular among tweens and teens around the world.

It’s such a popular drink that many find it hard to come by, and in the UK a bottle can cost up to £20 (A$35.45) online.
