Lizzo has slammed the MET Gala after taking to the red carpet for the first time last year at the star-studded event.
Hosted by Vogue’s Anna Wintour, the annual ball is fashion’s biggest night, as well as a fundraiser to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.
Speaking in an Instagram Live, the hitmaker, 35, had a laundry list of complaints following her debut, from the lack of seating to the amount of alcohol on offer.
Lizzo, who performed an incredible flute solo on the red carpet, said, “There’s a long line. I’m taking the glamour, but it’s true. You have to wait’.
“So you wait and that’s the hard part. I was sweating in a thick coat, my feet hurt’.

“They have no chairs, no cocktails. I was like ‘Bitch? Can we get some chairs or some drinks or some hors d’oeuvres?’.
Once inside, Lizzo said she was gutted when a waiter told her the only choice of alcohol was red or white wine.
She recalled, “They were very stingy with the booze that night. He was like ‘Red or white wine?’.
And I was like, ‘Tequila! Do you know what I’ve been through? Do you know how many hours I spent in this corset? How long have I been walking in these damn shoes? Tequila!’.
Of her red performance, she said, “I had the plan to play the flute and do the whole intro [of a classical piece] but I got nervous and I only played it once because all the photographers were bothering me’.
“They were like, ‘You put us to sleep with the flute!’
“I was like, ‘okay?’ In my mind I thought everyone would be transfixed.
Before adding, “So I only played it once, just the first half of it. Then I posed and took the pictures.’

But despite her grievances, she admitted she had a great time at the event: “This is like a celebrity ball. . . My ball sucked.
“Now I feel like the Grammys and the Met Ball, they’re like my prom.”
Before adding, “It’s like the musicians I’m with are the peers I went to high school with and I just treat it that way.”
At the event, Lizzo wore a black corset dress by Thom Browne with cutouts for garter belts under a glamorous gold embellished coat selected by stylist Jason Rembert.
‘It’s unbelievable. Handmade from beads – it took 22,000 hours to make this coat,” Lizzo (born Melissa Jefferson) told Vogue on the red carpet.
