Liz Ellis reflects on her I’m a Celebrity win after beating boxer Harry Garside in the final: ‘I’ve just had the best month of my life!’

Liz Ellis has been reflecting on her I’m a Celebrity win and time in the jungle.

The former Netball star, 50, appeared on The Project on Monday and said she had the ‘best month of her life’ filming the hit show.

Liz, who took home a cool $100,000 for her chosen charity, said winning the show felt “so surreal.”

“It was so unreal and the best part was that the throne was so soft!” she said laughing.

“It felt surreal because we had no idea how we were perceived at home, whether people liked us.”

“And to share the last few days with Aisha and Harry, I’ve just had the best month of my life,” she added.

In the end, Liz walked away victorious, winning $100.00 for her chosen charity, Share The Dignity, and the title of Queen of the Jungle.

An excited Liz couldn’t believe her happiness and looked truly moved and bewildered as she took her seat on the throne.

‘Oh my God. At last I’m a queen!’ she joked before going on stage.

Host Julia Morris told the pair that the vote came down to a razor-sharp ending, with Australian viewers enamored with both finalists.

“We can say that the result was extremely close,” she revealed.

Liz had previously said of her time on the show, “My kids never saw me play netball. I want to show them what mom can do. I want to show them that I can be strong, face danger and still keep working.’

Liz further admitted that her time on the show wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.

“There have been real ups and downs,” she explained of her journey through the South African jungle.

“Everyone endured. It was so nice getting to know everyone,” Liz added.

While discussing why she chose her charity, Share The Dignity, Liz explained that the project means a lot to her.

“They partnered with 3,000 charities to provide much-needed menstrual products to women who are homeless, fleeing domestic violence, or living on the poverty line or struggling to make ends meet,” she said.

“It helps them and their family get through and empowers them to be worthy. And you hear about women and their stories.’
