Lisa Rinna surprised fans of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills on Thursday when she announced that she is leaving the Bravo series after eight seasons.
And two weeks before the big news, Rinna’s husband, Harry Hamlin, said he thinks her honesty and disdain for injustice often gets her into “a lot of trouble” on the show.
‘[Lisa] does his job. His job is to be on time, to interact with the people on the show in an honest and authentic way,’ he shared with PEOPLE.

Harry explained that his wife, 59, is angry at the dishonesty and unfair actions.
“Her hot topic, I guess, is injustice or when someone else isn’t being honest, she’ll call it out.
And that gets you into a lot of trouble. But it also helps the show,’ said the 71-year-old actor.
Harry then defended his wife against the misconceptions about her character that have arisen from her time on RHOBH.
‘[Lisa] does her job. Her job is to be on time, to interact with the people on the show in an honest and authentic way,’ she shared with PEOPLE.
“Her hot topic, I guess, is injustice or when someone else isn’t being honest, she’ll call it out. And that gets you into a lot of trouble. But it also helps the show,’ said the 71-year-old actor.
‘I have known her for 30 years… She has never, in all that time, told a lie. And something that wasn’t absolutely and honestly true.
And yet, she is accused of being a liar on the show. And I don’t pay much attention to that because I know she’s not,” the Clash of the Titans actor said.
With such a strong personality, Harry understands that Lisa will have some enemies, but he believes that most viewers enjoy the soap opera star.
“There’s always going to be 50 percent of the people who like you, 50 percent of the people who hate you,” he explained. “I think the hate factor is much more, like 80 percent [of] people like Lisa, 20 percent don’t.

Famously, Lisa got into a fierce exchange with her former RHOBH co-star Kim Richards on the fifth season of the Bravo series after Kim unexpectedly brought up Harry.
The fight took place during a trip to Amsterdam and occurred after Lisa questioned Kim’s sobriety.
Kim, not appreciative of Lisa’s concern, replied, ‘Let’s talk about the husband’, apparently referring to Harry.

Lisa confirmed her departure from RHOBH on Thursday in a statement shared with PEOPLE. It comes after a drama-plagued twelfth season that documented the ongoing feud between her and her co-star Kathy Hilton.
“This is the longest job I’ve had in my 35-year career and I’m grateful to everyone at Bravo and everyone involved with the series,” Lisa told the outlet. ‘It’s been a fun eight years and I’m excited for what’s to come!’
It was noted that Lisa and Bravo “mutually decided that she would not return to RHOBH” after her contract expired last season.
Lisa signed with The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills in 2014 ahead of the show’s fifth season.
