Lionel Messi’s son Mateo was caught on video throwing a lollipop at fans during a World Cup match this week.
The Messi family was on hand for Argentina’s 2-1 win over Australia in the round of 16, where the PSG striker was on hand to score his nation’s first goal.
However, there was chaos in the stands when Messi’s middle son was seen throwing a paddle into the crowd that had gathered below the family.
Mato Messi was seen standing with his family before throwing away the remains of his lollipop.

In the video, Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo can be seen sitting and smiling with two of their children.
Standing next to her is Mateo, who is the middle child of Messi’s three children. He quickly goes to grab the remains of the lollipop from him before being held by his mother.
However, moments later, the seven-year-old managed to throw the lollipop into the crowd, much to his mother’s disappointment.
Roccuzzo quickly reprimands his son and orders him to get away from the barrier, which he does.
Although she didn’t find the situation funny, several fans took to social media in droves to praise the seven-year-old’s ‘funny’ actions.
Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, tried to stop Mateo from throwing it, but it was too late.
Online fans were quick to praise Mateo for his hilarious actions during the Argentina match.
‘Please, it’s so funny,’ wrote one fan. They added a crying emoji at the end to indicate the hilarity of the situation.
“He is not real,” wrote another, with the same emojis that accompany the message.
‘That boy is Argentinian from head to toe!’ wrote one user.
Mateo’s actions appear to have closely followed those of his younger brother Ciro, who was also given a scolding by his mother during the Qatar tournament.

Antonela Roccuzzo, Lionel Messi’s wife, appeared to admonish her youngest son, Ciro Messi, ahead of Wednesday’s World Cup game against Poland.
Four-year-old Ciro Messi was photographed jumping on top of the seats and was seen running in the suites section at Estadio 974 on Wednesday, according to Argentine news outlet TN.
The emotion shown by the youngest of Messi’s three children – all boys – before the clash with Poland was enough to make his mother look deathly.
Roccuzzo could then be seen gesturing to Ciro in an attempt to get him to behave before order was restored.
The family finally calmed down and cheered as Messi and Argentina defeated Poland 2-0 and advanced to the knockout stage.

The Messi family has been around to watch his father’s impressive World Cup performances thus far.
Messi has registered three goals and one assist in his four games so far. He managed to score his first goal in the World Cup knockout round against Australia on Saturday.
The 35-year-old will hope to add to his tally when his team take on the Netherlands in the quarter-final of the competition on Friday.
