“The MRI was not good, we are devastated, but they are just images that suggest a certain quality of life,” Kallie wrote.

“Our real narrator will be what Levi does over the course of a few days. Please keep praying! “I’m not giving up on my baby yet,” she added.

“I am working to get any neurologists or other trained professionals with expertise in this area willing to view his MRI. Then let’s see what my strong boys do in the coming days.’

On Thursday evening, Kallie said Levi woke up while lying in his hospital bed at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, next to her husband Spencer.

‘LEVI WAKE UP! I’m shocked, we don’t know much but the doctor said it was okay for me to get excited about that and I am! My baby is so cool!’ she wrote.

“He got a little wild, so we had to calm him down again, but my heart!”

Kallie clarified later on Friday that Levi was not “fully coherent” or talking.

“He opened his eyes for a while, wiggling purposefully and less like a reflex like before,” she wrote.

‘We still have a very long and wonderful road ahead of us, full of uncertainties. Spencer and I felt like he knew we were there and could hear us.”

‘He’s been quite sedated since then, but he’s woken up a few times. He even woke up while we were talking to one of the doctors about his love for excavators and tractors.”

“He has the will to breathe, but his sweet little brain was without oxygen for too long and there is no recovery,” the family said, adding that he was not expected to survive.

‘We cuddled him all night and have a strong feeling that his spirit is no longer with us. We can’t be selfish and drag this on for days, he doesn’t deserve that.

‘Soon we will end his care and keep him close to us until his last breath on earth. My baby, my beans, mommy and daddy love you always and forever!”
