Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has performed the band’s most famous song, Stairway to Heaven, for the first time in almost twenty years.
The veteran musician, 75, appeared alongside Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor, 62, at a charity fundraiser at Soho Farmhouse last weekend.
Despite being the best-known song he has ever recorded in his more than fifty-year music career, Plant had not performed the classic song publicly since Led Zeppelin’s one-off reunion performance in 2007.
But audience members at the concert called An Evening With Andy Taylor And Special Guests enjoyed the special moment, as did Taylor who performed alongside him.
The star-studded gig, based at the famous venue in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, was a fundraiser for Cancer Platform, a global cancer resource center developed by the Cancer Awareness Trust, which has supported Taylor during his ongoing battle with cancer. the sickness.

Speaking about his memorable collaboration with rock legend Plant, Duran Duran star Taylor said: ‘Cancer Awareness Trust has been brilliant and I’m glad I can do my part to support them.
“To have Robert sing such a beautiful song that means so much to so many people was out of this world.”
Since Led Zeppelin’s reunion performance in London, Plant has performed numerous concerts, but has deviated from performing his band’s most famous song.
In 2016, Plant and his bandmates successfully defended themselves in court after being accused of plagiarizing part of the song.
And speaking to Rolling Stone magazine last year, Plant revealed his pride in the song that means so much to so many people.
He said, “Hearing it in isolation makes me feel overwhelmed for every reason you can think of.
“There was a mood and an atmosphere of trying to get through it.
‘The world is a different place. Everyone was reeling from Vietnam and the usual extra help from corruption in politics.

“There were people who were really articulate, who conveyed it much less pictorially and got to that point much better.
“But I am what I am, and as my grandfather said, ‘I can’t be more ‘am’-er.”
During the concert, Plant paid tribute to both Taylor and Professor Sir Chris Evans, the founder of Cancer Awareness Trust.
Mailonline recently published new cancer tests developed by one of Sir Chris’s companies, EDX Medical.
In addition to Plant, guests included former Pink Floyd bassist Guy Pratt, X Factor favorite Ella Henderson, Wham!’s Andrew Ridgeley, ABC drummer David Palmer and comedian Katherine Ryan.
Speaking at the performance, Sir Chris said: ‘The concert was utterly wonderful and we are extremely grateful to Robert, Andy, Ella and the other artists who made it such a special evening.
‘These are artists who have shown enormous enthusiasm for supporting a charity that will help people more easily access reliable cancer information and materials that can help them personally.
