Chopra appeared at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival on March 10 to reveal that the “body shaming” comments left her in tears, with fans quickly suspecting that Roach was the person in question.

Speaking at the event, the 40-year-old mother-of-one said: ‘Someone told me yesterday that it wasn’t sample size…

‘It hurt me and I discussed it with my family, and I cried to my husband [Nick Jonas]and my team, and I felt really bad about the fact that I’m not the sample size, and that’s a problem, apparently, and most of us aren’t,” according to People.

Chopra did not name Roach, who was previously her stylist, but rumors quickly began to surface.

And, in his most recent interview, Roach acknowledged the incident but furiously denied making the comments Chopra claimed.

Roach told the publication: “It was a bit painful that it ended up in the press because that wasn’t the real conversation.” I’ve never had that conversation with her, ever.

‘So again, they’re your keepers, how they presented what I told you to make you feel that way. And if that made her feel bad, it didn’t, she was taken out of context.

But I’m sure they took it out of context for her to say, “Oh, okay, I won’t be working with him anymore. He’s insensitive to my body.” Which I’m like, how is that possible? I’ve been dressing you for literally before the pandemic, and it’s been nothing but great stuff.

She then went on to list other ‘non-sample size’ celebrities she had previously worked with, including Anne Hathaway after giving birth, Tiffany Haddish and Lizzo.

‘My Cup is empty… thank you to everyone who has supported me and my career over the years. Every single person that trusted me with the picture of him, I’m so thankful for all of you,’ he wrote in the caption.

‘If this business was just for clothes, I would do it for the rest of my life, but unfortunately it’s not!’ she added.

‘Politics, lies and false narratives finally got me! You win… I’m out.
