Lauren Conrad joins Laguna Beach cast as she attends 20-year high school reunion

Lauren Conrad attended her 20-year high school reunion on Saturday and later shared results on Instagram.

The 38-year-old star rose to fame on the MTV reality show Laguna Beach as cameras followed the lives of her and her classmates in their Southern California beach town.

Via Instagram Story on Sunday, Conrad wrote, “We had so much fun last night celebrating our 20 year (!!!) high school reunion. ‘Thank you to @hotellagunaweddingsandevents for hosting us!’

For the occasion, she dressed casually in a fitted black shirt with a round neck, black trousers and a long, beige coat.

Lauren, whose nickname on the show was LC, took a selfie showing the name tag she wore at the event, which featured her yearbook snapshot.

Conrad posed with Laguna Beach alum Trey Phillips and Dieter Schmitz in a beach photo that showed the sun setting behind them.

Another recognizable face at the reunion was that of Stephen Colletti, who attended the reunion with fiancé Alex Weaver.

He also uploaded content from the evening to social media, sharing glimpses of his “pre-game” celebration with his family.

In addition to Lauren, Trey, Dieter and Stephen were also part of the show’s cast, Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth.

The popular MTV docuseries ended in November 2006 after three seasons.

In 2020, the Laguna Beach co-stars reunited via Zoom to reflect on their time on the show.

Stephen said at the time, “I feel like the last time we were all in the same room was when we went to the VMAs one time.”

And he recalled the process of becoming reality TV stars: “MTV was like, ‘Here we’re going to launch this show and here’s 45 minutes of media training. Have fun and then this show will air on MTV. Good Luck!”

During the 30-minute virtual reunion, the cast reminisced and showed how the series paved the way for future reality TV shows.

“That was the coolest part of our experience; reality TV wasn’t really a thing before Laguna Beach,” Christina Sinclair explains.

‘In retrospect, we would all have been very different if we had been exposed to reality TV in the way we have. In a way, I feel like this is what made Laguna Beach so iconic. We really went in with no expectations, no idea what we were doing,” she added.

Despite MTV’s emphasis on the “reality” element of the series, Cavallari admitted that the cast had to do “a lot of pick-up scenes,” which meant parts of the show were shown “out of order.”

She recalled having to “pretend prom just happened” and was later told to “pretend prom didn’t happen.”

Trey added, “It’s crazy because I remember watching it when it first came out and every time you were like, “That’s not exactly how it was. They changed this.”
