A Las Vegas high school was ‘hard-locked’ after an adult was shot at the school.

At around 1 p.m. Monday, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department reported a shooting at Ed Von Tobel Middle School on N. Pecos Road.

Officials said an adult was hit by gunfire and taken to hospital. No other injuries have been reported, Metro police said, and the school has been evacuated.

Police are now looking for the suspect, whom they describe as “still not.” But according to the authorities, there is no further threat at that time.

Investigators have not yet identified the victim and their condition remains unclear.

Parents eagerly awaited news as their children were locked up at Ed Von Tobol Middle School on Monday

Authorities say an adult was shot on the school’s campus, but no other injuries were reported

All students have been accounted for, police said, and will be released from the school

In a letter to parents, Principal Leonardo Amador said: “The safety of our students is the number one priority at Von Tobel Middle School.

‘As always, we want to keep you informed about important matters that are going on within our school community.

“The school is under strict lockdown due to a police investigation,” he said. ‘Students are safe in their classroom.’

In a hard lockdown, a school must lock all doors and students must hide until they are released.

All students have been accounted for, police said, and the Clark County School District Police said they will conduct a “supervised release” of the students as the parents eagerly awaited news outside.

“We’ve seen worst case scenarios in other schools in the US,” Julio Moreno, who was waiting for his daughter to be released from eighth grade, told the news agency. Las Vegas Review Journal. “We’re not going to stand there.”

Two nearby primary schools are also said to have been closed.
