Kylie Minogue, 55, turns heads in a blue pvc suit as she takes to the stage at Radio 2’s In The Park festival in Leicester

Kylie Minogue turned heads in a daring blue ensemble as she performed on stage at BBC Radio 2 In The Park 2023 in Victoria Park on Sunday.

It was the singer’s first full UK concert in four years, and Kylie didn’t disappoint as she brought the glitz, glamor and Padam Padam to Leicester.

She stood out in a blue PVC suit with a black fitted latex top and matching boots.

Kylie, 55, was surrounded by an army of dancers as she sang iconic songs such as Spinning Around, which was her opening number of the night, and On A Night Like This.

She also performed a series of songs from her upcoming album Tension, including her recent dance hit Padam Padam.

The star, who sported her signature blonde locks and red lipstick, will see Tension as her 16th studio album, released on September 22.

Thanks to Padam Padam, Ms Minogue enjoyed a spectacular comeback as the song reached the top of the UK charts, giving the singer her first No. 1 in more than a decade.

The former Neighbors actress, who closed the two-day festival, which saw the likes of James Blunt and Tick Astley perform at Leicester’s Victoria Park, will also kick off a series of performances in Las Vegas.

In July she announced that she will do her first Vegas residency: from November she will spend three months at the Venetian nightclub Voltaire.

It will be her first professional return to North America since 2011.

“I’ve performed in Vegas a few times, but as part of a tour, and especially when I did the Showgirl tour in 2004 – at the time we said, ‘oh, this feels like a Vegas show,'” she said at a press conference in LA.

‘I want it to be the essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamor and dedication.’

In a surprise outfit change, Kylie switched to a red one-shoulder mesh ensemble, paired with red over-the-knee boots and a maroon glove.

The festival returned for the first time since the pandemic – after being suspended in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II – and took place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September.

After the full line-up was revealed on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Tuesday 13 June, Kylie Minogue said: ‘Over the years I have done many unique and varied gigs for BBC Radio 2. I’m so excited to be headlining Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester later this year.

“I can’t wait to celebrate with you all, see you September 17th!”

In addition to pop icon Minogue, Bananarama, Rick Astley, Sam Ryder and Tears for Fears were also among the well-known names who performed.

James Blunt and Simply Red also star in what will be the duo’s only appearance during the 2023 UK festival season.

It comes after Kylie looked radiant as she arrived at the opening party of London Fashion Week on Friday evening after admitting she ‘feels at home’ acting.

The singer wore a figure-hugging mesh dress, with pink graphic swirls and a ruched seam down the center.

She completed her look with a pair of thigh-high leather boots and opaque stockings.

It’s been a busy week for the actress who also appeared on The One Show to talk about her new album, Tension, and teased a return to the screen.

During the show, Kylie, who returns to the small screen with a television special that will highlight her legendary career with ITV, admitted she still ‘loves acting’.

She explained: ‘I love acting, I love it when I get the chance to come on set.

‘I don’t do it that often so it’s a good nose, but at the same time I feel like I’m at home, this was my beginning and I spent years and years and years on TV sets, so TV and movies, I love it .’

Discussing her new album, Kylie revealed that she spent hours recording in her home studio.

She added: “A lot of it was in my studio, my little suitcase with all my stuff that I learned during lockdown. Great skill to finally have.

“Bedside tables in hotel rooms, literally everywhere – when the singing needed to be done, I would set up my stuff. I love it.

‘One night I was recording until I heard birds on the microphone. I thought: what time is it? 5am – Shut it down.” And I will think? “I’ll do one more, do one more.” I can really get into the zone.”
