Kristin Chenoweth, 56, gets candid about how her younger husband Josh Bryant, 42, courted her

Kristin Chenoweth admitted that “age is just a number” when talking about her 42-year-old husband Josh Bryant.

The Broadway vet, 56 — who recently addressed Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking allegations — revealed how her “younger” husband wooed her and how she feels about their fourteen-year age gap during an interview with The view on Tuesday.

Recalling their meeting in 2016, she said, “My niece went to Oklahoma University and his band was playing and she loved them so she hired them for her wedding. I showed up to sing with a band I’ve never met. They were called Backroad Anthem at the time. And I looked at the tape and I looked at Josh and I was like, “Who is that? He’s so cute!”

She was intrigued by Bryant, saying, “He’s a little younger than me, but I guess age is just a number.”

The talented singer revealed that she and the musician kept in touch after her niece’s wedding and he eventually asked to “woo” her, prompting Kristin to joke, “Are you from 1935?”

After asking the blonde where she would perform next, Josh attended her event in Boone, North Carolina to spend time with her.

‘He said, ‘Where would you like to eat?’ And I had the nerve to say Waffle House because I was so hungry and we went… that was it,” she recalled. “He had me at Waffle House.”

The couple officially started dating in 2018 and got engaged in October 2021 with a lavish proposal on the rooftop of the Rainbow Room in New York City featuring a three-stone halo ring from De Beers Forevermark by Rahaminov.

They married at a private home in Dallas in a romantic ceremony with a star-studded guest list including David Foster and Katharine McPhee, Kathy Najimy and High School Musical director Kenny Ortega.

When she accepted his proposal, she told Vogue, “I have been the runaway bride. Now that I’ve found him, I won’t let him go. I will run quickly to greet him at the altar.”

Their rehearsal dinner, held at tony restaurant The Capital Grille in Dallas, featured a custom cake from Baskin-Robbins.

Kristin, who is known for her love of the color pink, opted for a nude-pink wedding dress by Pamela Rolland that she described as “simple and elegant.”

Explaining that she “didn’t want to wear white,” she told People at the time, “I never thought I would get married, so I went very unconventional with the dress.” I love it.’

Josh and Kristin, both devout Christians, exchanged “a form of traditional vows.” “But I don’t say, ‘Obey!'” she laughed.
