Kourtney Kardashian, 45, shares more details about her ‘terrifying’ emergency fetal surgery during season premiere of The Kardashians

Kourtney Kardashian revealed more details about the emergency fetal surgery she underwent ahead of Rocky Thirteen Barker’s birth last year.

The Poosh founder, 45, said she had a scan to check the progress of her pregnancy before her husband Travis Barker, 48, left on his Blink-182 tour.

“The doctor who comes to the house to do the scan is a high-risk doctor, very detailed and thorough in examining everything,” the mother of four said.

“And something caught his attention and he wanted me to see some specialists. I had to go in for fetal surgery, where they did surgery on the baby, which was terrifying.”

The night before the surgery, Kourtney – who revealed her mother leaked Rocky’s name before he was born – was terrified and her husband, drummer for All the Small Things, was out of the country on tour with his band.

The Poosh founder, 45, said she had a scan to check the progress of her pregnancy before her husband Travis Barker, 48, left on his Blink-182 tour.

Barker flew home after his concert to be with his wife, something Kourtney is very grateful for.

“The timing of it was miraculous. That saved everything,” Kardashian Barker said. “I’m just so grateful for how everything turned out and for the doctors who really helped make the best decisions that really saved our baby.”

‘[The] The doctor said, “That was a trauma and I want you to take a moment to realize that that was really traumatic,” the mother of four recalled.

Kourtney described her special “superpower” that helped her get through the stressful moment during a confessional.

‘I have a superpower that makes me very calm in emergency situations. And when we left, I was like, ‘Okay, I can take a deep breath. I can cry. I can get it out,” she explained.

And she is also happy that she shared the traumatic moment on social media and that her fans expressed their gratitude for sharing her story with them.

“They were so grateful that I posted about it because they said so many people feel uncomfortable. They even told their friend or relatives because they said, “Did they do something wrong or other things?” Kardashian said.

“But my doctor says, ‘There’s nothing you did wrong, it’s not age-related. It’s like something very rare has happened.’ But when this happened, I thought God had this. Were good. This is a miracle and I’m going to be super positive,” she said.

The surgery was a success, bringing great relief to Kourtney and Travis.

‘I feel fine. But I also felt good. So I’m like, yeah, if I don’t feel any movement for five minutes, I want to wake him up because of the emergency fetal surgery I had to have,” she says.

‘I am now mainly on bed rest because there is a hole in the amniotic sac where they had to have the operation. So I’m not allowed to drive, I’m not allowed to stand for more than 20 minutes. I really don’t leave the house,” she explained.

Kourtney and Travis welcomed their son Rocky Thirteen Barker in November 2023. She is also mom to Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9, with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick.
