Shoppers are flocking to their nearest Kmart stores to grab a trendy $40 two-piece denim set — and many are calling it the “buy of the season.”
Miniskirts are a wardrobe staple for any fashionable woman, but their ‘schoolgirl’ reputation is hard to escape when it comes to plaid designs.
Luckily, the double denim trend is currently all over social media, with fashionistas scouring the stores for chic pieces.
The Short Sleeve Denim Shirt ($20) and Pleated Denim Mini Skirt ($20) are available in stores and online at Kmart.
“It just gives off cool girl energy,” influencer Abbey O’Hagan says in a video. ‘I look so good, you can wear this with knee-high boots when you go out to dinner. I could wear them with brown sandals and a bag!’

Abbey said she wore her double denim outfit to her office job and could also take it out for brunch or dinner, making it the perfect day-to-night attire.
Shoppers who aren’t fans of pleated skirts can also swap them for the denim cargo mini skirt ($20), like Perth-based Courtney.
“Run, don’t walk,” she said in one video. ‘I absolutely love this double denim set.’
