King Georges Road closed in Sydney after high-speed crash

Commuters in Sydney’s south are facing possible peak-hour traffic chaos this morning after a high-speed crash on King Georges Road near Hurstville Grove.

The incident involved an SUV that lost control and eventually crashed into a utility pole and fence, causing the power lines to collapse.

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene and firefighters worked diligently to free an 18-year-old male driver and his 19-year-old female passenger from the wreckage.

Both individuals were then transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. In addition, two other occupants of the car suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

As a result of the accident, King Georges Road will be closed in both directions for an extended period of time, causing potential disruption for morning commuters.

Authorities have urged motorists to anticipate significant delays and seek alternative routes where possible.
