Roman Kemp has revealed that Princess Kate called him asking if she could come to his parents’ house, where she played barefoot with his family’s dogs.
The 30-year-old Capital FM breakfast host, the son of pop stars Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman, revealed that the royal family, 41, contacted him after his BBC documentary Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency aired.
The show explored the suicide crisis affecting young men, a subject dear to Roman’s heart after his best friend and producer Joe Lyons committed suicide in 2020.
Speak against the timesRoman said the call from the future Queen was “an honor, but one of the weirdest things.”
“We had a Zoom call, just her and me. And she was like, “Oh, you know, I can come to your house and do it there.” And I just said, “No, let’s go to my parents”. It’s a bigger house. I don’t want to take royalties to a flat in Vauxhall’.

Kate then traveled to the home of the 1980s pop legends in Hertfordshire, where she met the whole family.
“We sat at the counter, with my mom and dad and my sister with all the dogs, and Kate was there.
“The funniest thing was she didn’t have any shoes on because she was respectful enough to take her shoes off at the door. That really stuck in my mind because you never see royalty without shoes,” he said.
Kate may be taking a tip from her sister-in-law Meghan, who previously revealed she was “barefoot” and wearing ripped jeans when she first met William.
In the explosive Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, the Duchess admitted she was unaware the ‘formality’ goes on behind closed doors and that she is a ‘hugger’ – which she didn’t realize was ‘shocking to some Britons’.
She also shared images of herself sitting barefoot on the kitchen counter at Frogmore Cottage.

Meghan also went barefoot on official occasions, including at a powhiri welcome ceremony at Te Papaiouru Marae – a Māori meeting house – in Rotorua, during her trip to New Zealand.
Harry also appeared barefoot in photos where the couple announced they were expecting their second child, as well as on the couple’s Christmas card after Lilibet was born.
Before joining the royal family, Meghan often appeared barefoot – including in a shoot where she did yoga poses and since her departure she posed barefoot for American magazine Variety.
The shoot, which was released last year, shows her lying on the floor, barefoot, in a £4,657 Jason Wu dress.

Roman, who also met Prince William and Prince Harry to talk about mental health, later met Kate again when he signed up for her ‘Shaping Us campaign’ where they released a short film together.
The radio host has also revealed that Prince Harry once “urged him to throw water balloons at William” when he was DJing at a Buckingham Palace garden party.
I spoke with James Haskell and Ian Wright while starring in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in 2019 he said: ‘I had a letter once and it was from Prince Harry to come and DJ at the Buckingham Palace garden party. I was playing a song and someone came up to me and said ‘Roman come here’ and it was Prince Harry…
“Princess Kate was there and there was a slingshot in the middle. They have a bucket filled with water balloons and they just ping these water balloons into the crowd from a balcony.”
“He said come here, I’ve got Harry here holding him, Kate here holding him…
“I’m like ‘what’s going on?’ He said ‘aim a little bit to the left’ and I said ‘who am I aiming at’ and he said ‘my brother!” I said no, I’m done for treason!’
