Vice President Kamala Harris was ridiculed online after she resurfaced in public following her election defeat at the hands of Donald Trump.
Harris appeared at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland to give a speech and encourage her younger followers not to lose hope and look to the future.
In the speech, she attempted to give a flashback to the early days of the campaign and the viral “coconut tree” memes that showcased her awkward brand of humor.
“I ask you to remember the context in which you exist,” Harris said to muffled laughter in the crowd.
It was a nod to one of her many infamous “word salads” that went viral during the campaign.
But many on social media mocked the failed presidential candidate for trying to stay relevant after her loss, accusing her of being out of touch.
“While this is funny, let’s not forget how many people voted for her. Truly a disturbing sign for our country,” wrote user Neil Johnson.
“She should be forced to sit in a room alone and watch her own videos. She has the intelligence of dirt,’ wrote Juanita Broaddrick on X.

‘Baffled by her own BS,’ Marc Menninger agreed.
Others saw the “cringe” video as a reminder of how fortunate the country was that Harris was not elected president
“We can’t thank President Trump enough for saving us for four years.” wrote Logan Hall on X.
She referred to a 2021 speech in which she invoked a statement made by her mother.
“My mother would sometimes give us a hard time, and she would say to us, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. Do you think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’ Harris recalled this with a laugh in a 2021 speech.
“You exist in the context of everything you live in and everything that came before you.”
Despite the fun buzz the “context” slogan once generated, post-election viewers of the video of Harris’ comments were unimpressed.

“I’m so glad we dodged this bullet, but I’m also glad the cringe-inducing content continues.” wrote Dustin Grage.
While these lines are impressively awful, what is truly concerning is that this cackling clown won 75 million American votes. wrote Hellen Hays on X.
“I’m grateful she came out of hiding in her loser cave to remind us how completely vapid, vacuous and annoying she is,” Bruce Hooley added.
Others weren’t ready for Harris to return to the public stage.
“Just go away Kamala,” wrote Matt Stoller on X.
“I think I’ll always have a place in my heart for Kamala, but it’s crazy that the Dems are going on this joyous tour after telling people they were on the brink of total societal collapse for the past three years.” wrote X user Gnrl.
Despite her attempt at a light-hearted viral moment, Harris made a serious plea to her supporters, urging them not to lose hope or the will to fight after the election.
‘Let me be very clear: no one can run away. No one can run away,” she said. “We must stay in the fight, every one of us, including the fight for an economy that works, not just for those at the top, but for working people – for all Americans.”
Harris reiterated advice she shared with supporters during recent holiday celebrations, urging them to spend time eating and drinking and resting.
“I challenge you to come back ready, ready to chart our path into the future, chin up, shoulders back and forever impatient for change,” she said. “And be prepared to go back to work, fighting for opportunity and freedom, fighting for fairness and dignity, back to work, fighting for this country we love and the future we share.”
And she also acknowledged the deadly shooting at a Wisconsin elementary school last Monday.
“It’s another school shooting, another community torn and affected by gun violence,” the vice president said Tuesday in Maryland.
“And of course our nation mourns the dead, and we pray for the recovery of the injured and for the entire community.
“But look, as we hold our loved ones close this holiday season, we as a nation must renew our commitment to ending the horror of gun violence.”
