Kamala Harris may already have an opponent if she runs for governor of California: ‘I would destroy her’

As Vice President Kamala Harris considers her next move after her brutal presidential election defeat, she could face a familiar opponent as she runs for governor.

The defeated Democratic presidential candidate is reportedly considering a bid to become governor in her home state of California as she prepares to leave office in January.

Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom is term-limited, so the governor’s seat will be open in 2026.

But celebrity Caitlyn Jenner, a known Trump supporter, is also hinting at a bid for governor.

“If I ran, and it was ultimately against Harris, I would destroy her,” the transgender former Olympian wrote on X.

Jenner previously ran for governor as a Republican replacement in the 2021 recall election against Newsom, but she received only one percent of the vote.

But lately, Jenner has been dropping hints that she will run again in the 2026 regular election for governor.

Jenner is an outspoken supporter of Trump, who proudly voted for him in the 2024 election despite the president-elect demonizing transgender people as part of his campaign messages.

The reality TV star referenced her last failed bid for governor in a recent post “Should we do it again? I’ve received a lot of calls with a lot of strong opinions. Newscum will be published in 2026.’

The day after the presidential election was called for Trump, she posted a photo of herself with newly elected president and supporter Elon Musk, with the caption “Hope is back in America.”

But Jenner’s political ambitions and hopes to take on Harris directly would take a long road in California, which is a blue state.

Jenner suggested she would run for Kamala Harris for governor

First, it’s not clear that Harris will run for governor, or that she could run for president again in 2028.

Advisors and allies said they have been instructed by the vice president to “keep her options open,” according to Politico.

At the same time, winning liberal California statewide is an uphill climb for any Republican candidate.

While Trump won the election, Harris won the state with more than 58 percent to Trump’s 38 percent, with more than 9.1 million votes to the newly elected president’s 5.9 million votes.

But Republicans were able to gain ground in The Golden State after President Biden won the state in 2020 with more than 63 percent and 11.1 million votes.

Jenner noted that the state has become redder in the most recent election.

When it was pointed out that she could not win the recall election, the 75-year-old acknowledged the challenge.

Memories are very different. The times are also very different. But it’s clear,” she wrote on X.

But she maintains a following on social media, writing on Monday in response to reports that she is considering ‘MAKE CA GREAT AGAIN!’
