Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan were crowned winners of Winter Love Island 2023 on Monday night.
The pair, both 24, were in awe as they beat day one pairing Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins to take home the 50k prize in Sunday night’s final.
During his exit interview, Kai revealed that the next step is to make Sanam his girlfriend, while the couple teased that they have plans to move in together.
The physical education teacher Kai said: ‘I have made it quite clear that she will definitely be my girlfriend abroad!
‘As soon as we get out here, that’s when an even bigger effort starts. You can really value someone’s time and effort when you have to put in the time and effort. That’s what I’m looking forward to.

Speaking about moving in together, Sanam explained, ‘That’s something I want to work on. I’ve also talked to Kai and I’d love to work on getting stronger abroad and then work on moving in together.’
Kai added, “I’ve always said that for the right girl and the right relationship, you’d move anywhere.” If she has a connection with someone and wants to spend time with someone wherever she is, she will feel right at home. Living in Bedford is not a problem!
Sanam then said, “I think it’s something we both want, so we’ll work towards it.”
Before her win, Sanam accidentally revealed that she has a crush on Kai, while he told viewers to “watch this space” on how to make the beauty his girlfriend in the outside world.
Speaking about the moment, Sanam said: “I was full of emotions and everything wanted to come out at once.” But if it’s going to come out, it’s going to be between me and Kai on one of our amazing dates we have planned.
Kai added, “I think we’ve given ourselves the best chance to get to know each other in the best setting possible.” We also want to keep something for the outside: we want to make the next steps a little more intimate, a little more private, both making the effort.
Speaking about Kai, Sanam said, ‘Kai is the most caring person there is. He has a big heart – I love how our morals and values align. I love listening to Kai talk about his work and I love what a family man he is. Everything about him is a charming and amazing guy.
Kai replied, ‘She is unbelievably beautiful. Once we start talking, we just fly. It’s like we know each other, we’re incredibly similar in so many ways. She loves how much she loves her family, how passionate she is about things and how smart she is. I love so many things about her!’
His win marked the first time a Casa Amor bombshell entered the show and continues to win in the show’s eight-year history.
Tom Clare, 23, and Samie Elishi, 22, took third place in the competition, while airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, 24, and Tanya Manhenga, 22, were the first out .

The couple was left speechless when presenter Maya Jama announced the results during the live final in South Africa on Monday.
After her win, Sanam told 28-year-old Maya, “I can’t believe it,” while Kai was speechless.
She said of their romance, “For me, it was always Kai, like I always said he was my number one.” He obviously is a very attractive guy but he made me fall in love with everything.
‘Everything about him, I loved. I really didn’t think he was going to be here. I’m going to cry.’
Like all romances on the show, Kai and Sanam have had a rocky ride, after P.E. teacher Olivia Hawkins’ former love interest stormed off when her head was turned at Casa Amor, just like the her.
But Kai’s decision to get back together with Sanam has proven valuable as they’ve stayed strong ever since.
In his interview, the PE teacher noted that his journey on the show had been a ‘roller coaster’, but he is eager to get Sanam away from the glamor of the South African villa.
“It’s been a roller coaster,” he said. ‘But literally, she blew me away. I think it’s her eyes.
Treats: Meanwhile, Master Kai told how he plans to go on a nice vacation with the money and lots of fancy dates.
‘I always told her that it was the first conversation we had, she did the eyes. But she doesn’t anymore! After that first one, we got closer and closer.
‘She doesn’t leave my side and I absolutely love her. Here, it’s amazing and you have so many people working around you, putting on the most amazing dates ever, but I can’t wait to put my time and effort into it and show it how amazing it is.
‘On the outside, she’s going to be my girlfriend, but I want that control.
“I am going to make it very special and I have told her so many times that she will be my girlfriend abroad.” So stay tuned.
