Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool bench were in hysterics after watching Joe Gomez try to open his goalscoring account with a long-range strike.
Klopp watched on as his side triumphed 3-0 over Southampton in their FA Cup fifth round tie, with Jayden Danns and Lewis Koumas finding the net to complete a win.
A number of Liverpool youngsters were given a run out at Anfield – given the Reds’ increasing injury concerns – with Gomez one of the few seniors on the pitch.
The England international has never found the back of the net in his professional career but certainly tried to do so during Liverpool’s win over the Saints.
In the 14th minute of the match, Gomez tried his luck from long range as he fired an ambitious effort towards goal.

However, his shot flew well wide of the target and never actually looked like worrying Saints stopper Joe Lumley.
Luckily for Gomez, Klopp and the rest of the Liverpool bench were able to see the funny side of the situation, with cameras quickly switching off to let them laugh.
ITV footage had the Reds coaches and players chuckling in the dugout, with one team member even putting his head in his hands.
Afterwards, Liverpool boss Klopp compared Liverpool’s young team to Luke Littler, number two at the World Darts Championship.
āIt’s a bit like the new darts sensation, it’s fine for tonight,ā Klopp said.
‘Leave the boys in the corner tomorrow. Everyone who is with us, we have to have our moments, they will have more moments than we expect.
‘Don’t forget when the transfer window opens, don’t ask for twelve signatures!’

Elsewhere on the evening, colleague Jayden Danns scored a brace before describing the occasion as ‘a dream come true’.
Speaking to ITV, Danns said: ‘It’s a dream come true, I’ve supported the club since birth so it was surreal to score at the Kop.
‘To me it doesn’t feel real, it feels like I’m in a movie. I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight!’
Danns went on to reflect on his two goals, as he said: “It was this kid (Elliott) who let me slide in, I just saw him and thought he had the vision and the ‘keeper came close, so you just have to but to think It.
