JK Rowling launches a furious attack accusing politicians of ‘snuggling up’ to trans groups

JK Rowling has launched a furious attack on politicians who have ‘joined’ transgender groups, as the Harry Potter author insists she is ‘ready to die on this hill’.

The 58-year-old called for an investigation into why political parties embrace the views of ‘privileged’ pro-trans groups such as Stonewall and Mermaids.

Her comments come just days later a review written by leading pediatrician Dr Hilary Cass found that teenagers in Britain were allowed to change their gender on the basis of ‘remarkably weak evidence’.

In her report, Dr. warned Cass said there was a ‘lack of high-quality research’ into the effects of giving puberty blockers and hormones to children, and said the toxicity in the debate over the issue had become ‘exceptional’.

Rowling tweeted her response to the report: ‘In 2018, Stonewall literally told schools to destroy a research pack that said there were risks from puberty blockers. We condemn and condemn this publication in the strongest possible terms. If it lands on your desk, do the right thing: destroy it.

“In 2022, Stonewall told the world that ‘research’ suggests two-year-olds can be trans. It advocated that daycare centers – NURSERIES – should teach children that there are more genders than boys and girls.

‘Politicians have latched onto Stonewall and Mermaids, giving them a privileged seat at the table and co-opting their talking points, to the detriment of very vulnerable children, young people and women. When are we going to see this fully explored? When will this end?’

The author replied, “Leo, are you sure it was my books you read? Because if you read them and understood them, you would absolutely understand why I am willing to die on this hill.”

Earlier this week, Rowling said that she will not forgive Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson after criticizing celebrities who ‘joined a movement to erode women’s hard-won rights’.

The multi-millionaire author attacked stars who use their ‘platforms to encourage the transition of minors’ following the publication of the long-awaited Cass report into gender treatment in Britain.

The vocal women’s rights activist said people who supported gender transition in children should apologize to “traumatized people who have transitioned and vulnerable women who rely on single-sex spaces.”

Rowling has spoken out against allowing children to change genders, while Radcliffe and Watson have been outspoken in their support of the trans community.

When she read Dr. Discussing Cass, she also added: “Over the past four years, Hilary Cass has conducted the most robust review of the medical evidence for child transition ever conducted. Just hours after it was released to the press and public, the committed ideologues are doubling down.

‘These are people who opponents consider ‘extreme right’ because they want to know whether there are good checks and balances before autistic, homosexual and abused children – groups that are all over-represented in gender clinics – are left sterilized, inorgasmic and for life. patients.

“I understand that the review’s conclusions will have come as a huge shock to those who have hounded and demonized whistleblowers and smeared opponents with bigots and transphobes, but trying to discredit the work of Hilary Cass is not merely misleading. It is actively evil.

“Even if you’re not ashamed to cheerlead for what now seems like a serious medical error, even if you don’t want to accept that you may have been wrong, where is your sense of self-preservation? The cart you so happily jumped on hurtles towards a cliff.

“And if I sound angry, it’s because I’m fucking angry. I read Cass this morning and my anger has been building all day. Children have been irreversibly harmed and thousands are complicit, not just doctors, but also celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioned media and cynical corporations.

“The consequences of this scandal will be felt for decades to come. You cheered it. You did everything you could to obstruct and misrepresent research. You tried to bully people out of their jobs because they were against you. Experiments have been conducted on young people who are infertile and in pain.

‘I thought the last tweet would be my last, but I burst into tears. The #CassReview may be a turning point, but it comes too late for detransitioners who wrote me heartbreaking letters of regret. Today is not a triumph, it is the uncovering of a tragedy.”

The report of Dr. Commissioned almost four years ago, Cass made a series of recommendations to overhaul the NHS’s trans services to improve the care children receive.

She found there is a ‘lack of high-quality research’ into the effects of giving children puberty blockers and hormones, and recommended that NHS England set up its own research programme.

The report also called for the creation of a separate service for those who want to ‘de-transition’, which involves stopping or reversing a gender transition, and recommended a ‘follow-up service’ for 17 to 25-year-olds to protect teenagers. falling off a cliff’ into healthcare when they hit 17.

Dr. Cass warned that her review was hampered by the extent to which the debate over trans care for children has become polarized. She said medical professionals were left behind'[too] afraid to openly discuss their opinions’.

The report found that those who undergo social transition at a younger age or before seeing a medical professional are “more likely to progress to a medical pathway.”

She said “the importance of what happens at school” cannot be overestimated and that parents should not be excluded from conversations about their children’s welfare.

Unregulated private clinics were singled out for some of Dr.’s harshest criticism. Cass, when she echoed GPs’ warnings about prescriptions issued by services abroad.

The review said GPs had ‘expressed concerns about being pressured to prescribe hormones after these had been initiated by private providers’.
