Terrifying video footage shows the moment a violent brawl broke out on a Jetstar flight, forcing it to make an emergency landing.
The chaotic brawl took place just 24 minutes after flight JQ582 from Melbourne to Brisbane on Tuesday night.
Footage showed the moment that blows were thrown between two men, with several other passengers trying to separate them.
A mother revealed how she thought ‘we would die’ when the plane descended without warning after the brawl.
“It was nerve-wracking,” the passenger said 9News Melbourne.
“There was a commotion, there was shouting, people started to get up, it went on for a few minutes.
“A gentleman was then escorted to the back of the plane, he had blood on his face… we heard nothing else, we had no information.
“It was incredibly nerve-wracking at this stage. I grab my son, I thought “he’s 28 years old and he’s going to die”. This is not fair.’
After the fight, the plane descended without warning, adding to the fear and confusion, the passengers said.
“We didn’t know what was going on,” she repeated, before the captain made a priority landing.
A map of the flight route shows that the plane has turned around near Mansfield and is returning to Melbourne airport.
There, the Australian federal police removed the two people from the plane.

Passengers claim that one of the men involved in the brawl had behaved aggressively before boarding.
“The man was aggressive before getting on the plane and we thought they certainly wouldn’t let him on the plane,” the passenger said.
A Jetstar spokesperson said the airline had “zero tolerance” for disruptive and abusive behavior.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is always our number one priority and we thank our customers for their patience,” the spokesperson said.
Shortly after landing, the flight was resumed to Brisbane. Australian Federal Police said no arrests had been made.
