Jessie J hits back at trolls for making women feel ‘ashamed’ for having a C-section

Jessie J has hit back at trolls for “shaming” women for having a C-section after undergoing the procedure last month to welcome her son.

The hitmaker, 35, previously revealed that despite preparing for a natural birth, doctors advised a caesarean section because her baby was ‘wrong way around’.

And in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, Jessie lashed out at haters, saying she’s ready to “embrace” her brand new figure.

Writing: “I don’t think I realized the impact my post would have on so many women who felt embarrassed or guilty after a C-section.”

‘Planned or emergency. If no one told you, I will. It’s certainly not the easy way out. It’s a birth’.

She went on to say, “Polite f**k someone who makes you feel something different. You had a BELLY BIRTH’.

“Whether it was a choice or not, you did or had to go what was right for your baby and for you to be healthy and arrive safely. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS’.

Before adding: ‘You all hug. We did it. We did it!!!’

“And… THANK YOU for the love and support you have shown me throughout this process. I’ll just focus on that. Having a child has completely changed my perspective and energy.”

‘I actively choose to focus only on the people who understand and support me. Everything else is background noise.”

She continued, “I embrace my new life, my new body, my new world without excuses. I’ll be on the beach with my body on display, I’ve missed too many moments in life worrying about what people will say or think.”

Before writing, “I will raise and own it my way. I love it here. Not missing out on joy because of a cocky hater. The block button is now a love language to myself when your vibes don’t feel right *SOON*’.

Jessie took to Instagram on Thursday and shared a video of herself doing a playful dance in the hospital ward just because she had her c-section.

The star looked cheerful in the clip as she showed off her dance moves while rocking her belly.

Alongside the post, the hitmaker shared how she prepared for a natural birth, but was told at her 40-week ultrasound that the baby was ‘wrong way around’ and that it would be safer for her to have a caesarean section.

She wrote, “I spent nine months preparing for a natural birth. Strict food, the epi no, yoga, swimming, hypnobirthing methods.

‘I had a tens machine, a birthing comb, I wanted a swimming pool birth without medication. BUT this was MY plan to stay disciplined and focused. I knew very well that it could and would go in a completely different direction.

“When people asked me ‘So what’s your birth plan,’ I said, ‘I’m open to surrendering to the safest way for my baby boy to gain weight’

“I had a scan on a few days off at 40 weeks and it sat all wrong and stuck because it was a little thicker than average and long.

I did everything I could to keep it running for 2 months, but it said “No mom, I want to come in through the roof, not the front door”.

“I was advised to have a caesarean section planned for the safest delivery. This video was taken 5 minutes before I went into surgery.

“I went into active labor the night before and felt all the feelings, but mostly just excitement for us to meet our baby boy.

“I think I’m sharing this because so many people have said, ‘Do you feel like you missed the birth you wanted?’

“I gave birth and it was all I wanted because I got him at the end, that’s all that matters.”

Jessie confirmed on May 19 that she had welcomed her first child, saying she had given birth the week before.

She added that the love she feels for her baby is “indescribable” and that she was “grateful” that he arrived safely.

Her message said, “A week ago my whole life changed. My son came into this world and my heart doubled in size. The feeling is indescribable. I’m flying in love.

‘He’s magical. He is all my dreams come true. He is my whole [world]. He and I are both doing great. I love every second and still can’t believe he’s real, here and mine.

“I’m so grateful practice *happy tears*. To everyone who has followed my journey to this moment, thank you for all of your continued love and support. I’ll be back on Instagram when I’m ready.”

The star managed to keep the pregnancy impressively a secret at first and announced she was expecting in January and has been keeping fans updated ever since.

Jessie has previously shared that becoming a mom is “all I’ve ever wanted,” with the pregnancy 13 months after she suffered a devastating miscarriage in November 2021.

Describing the heartbreaking ordeal on social media at the time, the singer explained that doctors struggled to find a heartbeat from the baby during her third scan – before learning she had miscarried.

In April last year, Jessie confirmed she was in a new relationship with basketball player Chanan when they kissed during the lunch date in LA.

The couple first sparked romance rumors in March 2022 on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the Caribbean, when Chanan joined Jessie for the work trip.
