Jessica Simpson addresses claims she is drinking again after she boasted about gambling with her son Ace, 11, in new Instagram post

Jessica Simpson denies she’s drinking again.

The 44-year-old With You hitmaker responded to a commenter who speculated about her sobriety under a sweet post for her son Ace, who turned 11 in June.

After the proud mom bragged about their shared love of scratch cards, a fan accused her of drinking alcohol in the comments of the post, writing, “STOP DRINKING!”

The singer-turned-entrepreneur — who previously shared a photo she took during her addiction discussing her sobriety — was quick to respond, claiming she hasn’t consumed alcohol since October 2017.

“I have not touched alcohol or had any cravings since October 2017. It is the best decision I have ever made for myself and my family,” she wrote.

After a fan asked her to “quit drinking” in an Instagram comment, she wrote, “I haven’t wanted to drink or touch alcohol since October 2017 and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself and my family.”

“Thank you. You for your concern, but you misunderstood me. I send you love,” she added.

Her full caption on her post to her son read: “I’m going to be a bragging mom and just say I have the sweetest, most handsome 11 year old son on the planet.”

‘Fun fact: We both randomly find lucky pennies every other week and use them to WIN my scratch cards together. Mommy loves you, Ace Knute Johnson – OH SO MUCH!!!!!!!!’

Jessica has three children with her husband Eric Johnson (44), to whom she has been married since 2014: Maxwell (12), Ace and Birdie (5).

Last year, Simpson reposted an “unrecognizable” photo of herself from six years ago on her Instagram Stories, taken while she was still smoking weed.

The Dukes Of Hazzard actress revealed in her memoir Open Book that she got sober in 2017.

The unflattering photo shows the blonde beauty looking completely different as she sits in a dark room in a pink tracksuit.

In the original caption, Simpson wrote: “This person in the early morning of November 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself.”

“I was destroying myself with all the drinking and pills,” she wrote. “Giving up alcohol was easy. I was angry at the bottle. At how it allowed me to remain complacent and numb.”

She continued, “I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this moment that I would allow myself to take back my light, manifest victory over my internal struggle for self-esteem, and face this world with piercing clarity.”

‘Personally, I had to stop drinking alcohol to do this because it made my mind and heart go in the same direction and honestly I was exhausted. I wanted to feel the pain so I could wear it as a badge of honor.’

Simpson continues, “I wanted to live as a leader and break the cycle of moving forward. I never wanted to look back with regret or remorse on the choices I made and the ones I would make for the rest of my life in this beautiful world.”

“I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already! It feels like maybe 2. I guess that’s a good thing. Ha. There’s so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self-sabotage.”

“The drinking wasn’t the problem. It was me. I didn’t like myself. I didn’t respect my own strength. Today I do.”

“I’ve made amends with the fears and accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage. I am wildly honest and comfortably open. I am free.”

In her memoir Open Book , she talked about getting sober. “I was killing myself with all the drinking and pills,” she said. “Giving up alcohol was easy. I was angry at the bottle. At how it allowed me to stay complacent and numb.”

Therapy was less easy: ‘By working, I made myself feel the traumas I had suffered.’
