Jessica and Sam were together for thirty years. They never married, but first started dating in 1982, after meeting on the set of the movie Frances.
They separated in 2009, although they did not announce their divorce until 2011.
Sam died on July 27, 2017 at the age of 73 from complications related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Meanwhile, Jessica was spotted taking a walk in her wheelchair next to Susan Sarandon last week.
The two actresses worked together in 2017 as Joan Crawford and Bette Davis in Murphy’s Feud.
The series focused on the well-documented rivalry between Crawford and Davis during and after the production of their 1962 thriller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
Murphy told it New York Times at the time, “It was a lot of fun having those two women and having a leadership position on set.”
“Because make no mistake, when you do a show with those two, they have a lot of opinions, and they’re always right, because they’ve been dating for a long time.”
