Jermell Charlo claims Tim Tszyu ‘can’t take my punch’ as he issues an ominous warning ahead of their blockbuster showdown…but admits the Australian champion was ‘impressive’ in his ninth-round win over Tony Harrison

Jermell Charlo fired the first shot in the war of words with Tim Tszyu, stating that the Australian will not be able to deal with him when the two meet in a megafight later this year.
Tszyu (22-0, 16KO) stopped Tony Harrison in nine rounds in Sydney on Sunday to claim the WBO super welterweight belt and set up a unification fight against Charlo (35-1-1, 19KO) who with all probability will be organized in Las Vegas.
And the undisputed champion of the division has established his position ahead of his blockbuster showdown with the Australian.
“He doesn’t really show me much athleticism,” Charlo said as part of Showtime Boxing’s coverage of the fight in the United States.
‘When you have skills, you have style and you have power together, you get four belts. It’s going to be a tough fight because he’s getting ahead of himself, but I think it’s perfect for my style.

‘I know you can’t take my shot, ’cause I know my shot is different […] It just made me want to fight, get this over with, shut him up, I’ve shut up a lot of them, he’s just one more.
‘He’s going to do the same. He’s not going to change much.
Tszyu and Charlo were meant to fight in January, but the fight was called off after the WBO, WBC, IBF and WBA light middleweight champion broke his left hand.
Instead, the Aussie bolstered his chance to have a chance against the US champion by beating Harrison, so far the only man to have stopped Charlo.
Speaking after the fight, Tszyu made it clear that the undisputed super welterweight champion was firmly in his sights.
‘I just beat the man who beat the man. What does that make me?’ he said.
‘The message was clearly sent. You already know what happens. You know what’s next. I’m coming.’
And while Charlo admitted that Tszyu was impressive in his ninth-round knockout of Harrison, he noted that there were aspects of the Australian’s approach that would explode when the two clashed.
It was impressive. She did what she had to do at home,’ she said.
“It was a little flat for me, but my movement, my style and my power will make him do completely different things.” when i get my [left] Right hand and get back in the ring to spar, put that tape on. That will work.’

But Charlo insists that he will have nothing to fear against Tszyu later this year.
However, he cautioned that Tszyu’s approach will not be as successful if it is replicated against him.
‘I’m a different fighter than Tony [Harrison],’ He explained.
You can’t compare me and try to compare Tony’s boxing skills. He didn’t chase him. He didn’t bring that dog on him.
‘If he wanted to fight me, he would have to bring more dogs on him. But Tim is next and that’s what we had before the injury, so it’s not like he’s not ready.”
