Jay Leno stopped for a sandwich break on Friday after taking one of his beloved vintage cars for a spin.
The 73-year-old talk show host was enjoying lunch with a friend after they went for a drive.
Jay appeared to be in good spirits after a freak accident last November in which he suffered severe second-degree burns.
The dedicated car enthusiast enjoyed the day in a casual blue denim button up shirt and jeans.
Still in good spirits as ever, the former Tonight Show host kept his afternoon ensemble simple with a pair of blue trainers.
Top-down drive: Jay Leno looked healthier than ever in his signature double denim look as he took one of his beloved vintage cars for a spin with a friend
An avid car enthusiast — even after one of his cars caught fire last November and left him with dangerous facial burns — Jay was seen last week picking up flammable car batteries in his same signature double denim outfit that he wore today.
Despite the severity of his injuries, the television personality was able to recount the harrowing incident to Hoda Kotb a month later.
According to Jay Leno’s Garage host, he was simply doing some maintenance work on a 1907 White Steam car.
“The fuel line was blocked so I was under it. It sounded clogged and I said, ‘Blow some air through the tube,’ and all of a sudden, boom, my face is full of gas,” the Popular Mechanics columnist recalled.
He added in excruciating detail “And then the pilot light went up and my face caught fire.”
Luckily, Jay was with his friend Dave Killacky, who managed to save his life.
“Dave, my friend, pulled me out and jumped on me and kind of put the fire out,” explained the car enthusiast.
Dr. Peter Grossman, who treated Jay at the Grossman Burn Center after the incident, told NBC News that the talk show host had an extraordinary ‘pain threshold’.
A medical professional explained that the New York-born star suffered “relatively severe” burns to “about seven percent of her body.”

“It’s only the second time in my career that I’m the new face of comedy,” said the car collector.
In another great joke, Jay joked about what his face looks like now, saying: “You can’t tell at all. No, you think there would be a zipper or something. No, this is like a whole new face.’
The Jay Leno Show host still has a large car collection, with nearly 200 cars, 160 motorcycles and counting.
