Jamie Lee Curtis urges Coldplay, U2, and Bruce Springsteen to consider ‘matinee’ concerts

Jamie Lee Curtis is determined to get to bed as soon as possible, so much so that she’s now urging the biggest names in music to consider doing matinee concerts.

Talking with the hollywood reporter at the Independent Spirit Awards, Curtis asked Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and U2 to consider doing shows earlier in the day so he could go to bed by 7:30 p.m.

“I’m only going to say this now as a tease and a suggestion. U2, do a matinee. Coldplay, do a matinee. How about a 12 noon concert, Coldplay? What’s up with that? mused the actress.

‘Bruce Springsteen, have a fucking matinee! You are old! Why didn’t you let me come see you, Bruce Springsteen, in your glory days, pun intended, and do it at noon or one? Two O ‘clock! The matinee of two! she said.

Theater in New York, at two! I’m coming to hear your five-hour concert, Bruce, at two o’clock, and I’ll be home and in bed by 7:30.

‘I’ll be home and in bed by 7:30’: Jamie Lee Curtis has an early bedtime, so she’s urging music’s biggest names to consider doing ‘morning’ gigs

Jamie is so determined to go to bed early that she even prevented him from attending the Oscar nominees dinner.

Jamie, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Everything Everywhere All at Once, said she turned down the invitation due to an early bedtime.

“Now you could say, ‘Jamie, you’re nominated for an Academy Award, you’re going to be in the room with just the nominees for the Academy Award, and I’ve declined.” Because? Because mommy goes to bed early.’

Talking with Todayhe admitted that the dinner would have had to have been at 5 pm for her to have attended.

“Here’s the thing, you see there’s a nominees luncheon which was fantastic because it was lunchtime and we were all there, we were all dressed up,” he said.

‘They took that big class photo of everyone, it was exciting! If it had been at night, I would have gone, but it would have been hard because I’m that girl.’

Jamie also challenged artists to increase their show times to fit his schedule.

Why no matinees? For example, I love Coldplay. I’d love to go see Coldplay,’ she mused.

Start a movement? “I want to hear Coldplay at 1pm. I think if we filled a stadium with people who want to see the Coldplay matinee, I think we’d start a trend,” Curtis told Today.

‘You are old!’ Curtis also called Bruce Springsteen and suggested that he consider increasing his performance time.

The problem is, I’m not going to go see Coldplay if they start their show at nine and there’s an opening act. I want to hear Coldplay at 1pm. I think if we filled a stadium with people wanting to see Coldplay matinees, I think we would start a trend.

As evidence of his early bedtime, Jamie even shared a photo of his watch at 6:58 p.m. on Sunday.

The clock was at the bottom of his shelf in his dimly lit room. “MOM DOESN’T LIE,” she captioned the photo.

Fans praised Jamie in the comments section, with many of them relating to his early bedtime.

‘I’m with you. She just turned 60 last year. Good night,” a fan commented.

‘Take a good nap on Oscar day. I am also a 830 900 better. I can’t stay up much past 900’, commented another.

‘Accept!! As we get older, we think we wake up and go to sleep like our farming ancestors did to milk the cows etc. Yes matinees and lunches!! What’s wrong with that!! Up with the sun and down when it’s dark!!’ one commented sked.
