Jailed bodybuilder Yakiboy living on canned tuna as he pleads not guilty to street brawl charges

Instagram bodybuilding star Yakiboy has revealed that he is living on a prison diet of canned tuna to keep his ‘Lamborghini’ body behind bars after being locked out of the prison gym.

Hossein Balapour has been in jail since he was arrested for a wild street fight allegedly involving the Versace-loving gym addict and his former friend, trainer Marven Yacoub.

On Monday, the lawyer for Abdullah Reslan, 29, pleaded not guilty to one count of brawling and one count of possession of an offensive weapon before Magistrate Theo Tsavdaridis at Downing Center Local Court.

Outside, the burly 6-foot-5, 107kg muscleman normally follows a strict high-protein diet and lifts weights six days a week.

But a recent strike at Parklea prison meant that inmates had no access to the prison gym and were locked in their cells.

When asked how his client was doing, Reslan declined to comment, but said Balapour was eating “canned tuna.”

Bodybuilding influencer Hossein Balapour (above) has pleaded not guilty to two charges stemming from an alleged wild street fight in which police say he was carrying a weapon.

The fitness influencer known as ‘Yakiboy’ is in Parklea prison (left) and will not be able to apply for bail until the end of March. Meanwhile, he avoids high-carb prison food (right) and sticks to canned tuna.

Daily Mail Australia understands that tuna is one of the items that inmates can buy on their ‘shopping’ list which allows inmates access to around $60 worth of produce per week.

Balapour, who has avoided normal prison fare, is behind bars at least until the second half of March, when he can apply for bail.

His bail was revoked two weeks ago following a dawn raid by elite officers from the NSW Police Raptor Squad who stormed his gym and led him away in handcuffs.

The social media personality’s arrest came three days after video surfaced of him allegedly fighting in broad daylight on a busy road with Marven Yacoub in eastern Sydney.

He was charged with violating his bail and after police successfully petitioned to have it revoked, he traded in his designer clothes for green prison clothes at the Parklea Correctional Facility, which went on lockdown for the last weekend of January.

With the guards’ union on strike over security issues related to its reputation as the most violent prison in the state, inmates were placed under severe restrictions.

This meant that Balapour, like all other inmates, was temporarily banned from receiving family visits, including his wife, Cherish, and four-year-old daughter, Dream.

Raptor squad cops arrested Balapour in a morning raid on his gym three days after video surfaced of his savage street fight in broad daylight with another trainer over money.

Balapour was one of 1,350 inmates locked in their cells without being able to go out into the prison yards for at least 48 hours and with food limited to what the jail provides.

The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) says Parklea has the worst record of serious assaults on prison officers in the state.

Before being incarcerated, Balapour was doing a daily regimen of punishing weights, with only Sundays off for cardio, and eating a diet of egg whites, skinless chicken breast, kimchi, and plenty of vegetables.

This is so the muscleman can make a living by posting photos of his body on Instagram, modeling clothes, and posting X-rated content on his OnlyFans page.

Balapour simply kept fit by doing sit-ups in a small 2m by 3m shared cell, although access to the gym inside Parklea is being restored.

His Instagram page, which has more than 350,000 followers, has been silent since his imprisonment.

The six-foot-five, 107kg hulking muscleman who makes a living off his ‘ripped’ body on Instagram and Only Fans has had little access to the gym or his preferred high-protein, no-carb diet.

When he was arrested, Balapour, 28, was out on bail on another assault charge to which he pleaded not guilty.

In video of the street fight from January 17, Balapour appears to attack Yacoub as the two stand with a group of men on a road in the inner Sydney suburb of Zetland.

Balapour is an Iranian refugee and former jujitsu teacher and wrestler who came to Australia by boat, was detained on Christmas Island, and learned English while living in backpacker hostels in Queensland.

It was a dramatic fight between Balapour and Yacoub (pictured together in 2019), who previously appeared to be close friends.
