Isco ‘travels to Germany to join Union Berlin on a FREE transfer until June 2024’

Isco, a Sevilla outcast turned free agent, has traveled to Germany to complete his deadline-day transfer to Union Berlin, according to reports.

The former Real Madrid star is set to sign a short-term contract until 2024, with the option to extend the deal for one more season.

Isco and Sevilla mutually agreed to terminate his contract in December after the Spaniard fell out of favor with head coach Jorge Sampaoli, who insisted he “did not meet the club’s expectations”.

The midfielder managed just one goal and three assists in his 19 appearances for Sevilla since joining from Los Blancos last August.

He dropped the La Liga champion on free in the summer after using up the remaining months of his long-term contract at the Bernabeu.
