Joel Embiid's remarkable scoring and rebounding streak could be in jeopardy after he suffered a nasty ankle injury on Friday night.

Playing through the pain barrier, Embiid took his 30-10 streak to 13 games, finishing with 31 points and 10 rebounds in the Philadelphia 76ers' 121-111 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

But he scored all 31 points after landing awkwardly while trying to block a shot with 5:25 left in the first quarter.

Embiid's 30-10 streak is the longest in the NBA since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it for 16 straight games in 1971-72.

Only Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain have longer streaks than Embiid is currently putting together.

The reigning NBA MVP stumbled noticeably and occasionally winced after falling

The reigning NBA MVP has scored 30 points or more in 14 straight games, the most in the NBA since James Harden played 32 games in 2018-19.

However, he briefly went to the locker room after scoring just two points in the first quarter, but returned in the second quarter and had 11 points at halftime.

He bumped noticeably and winced occasionally, favoring his right leg, but that didn't slow him down in the second half. He also had nine assists and four blocks.

Embiid didn't want to talk about his ankle after the game.

“I don't know,” he said. 'I'll have it checked. We will see.'

Embiid, a six-time NBA All-Star, now has two days to rest before the Sixers play Miami on Christmas Day.

Philadelphia coach Nick Nurse confirmed it was an ankle injury but didn't say much more about the injury.

Sixers coach Nick Nurse said they will keep an eye on Embiid before playing in Miami on Christmas Day

“Obviously he stayed in the game and his rotation didn't change at all,” Nurse said.

“But he played it out and I'm pretty sure he'll be sore tomorrow.

“We'll have to keep an eye on it over the next few days before we get on the plane (to Miami).”

“I saw that I wasn't aggressive,” Embiid added. 'But then I let the game come to me. “I wasn't forcing any shots and in the third quarter I was able to get a few more shots going.”

Embiid's 76ers teammates Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey each had 33 points, the second time in franchise history that three players scored more than 30 points in a game.

The other was in 1961 when Dick Barnett, Hal Greer and Dolph Schayes did it for the Syracuse Nationals.

Pascal Siakim led Toronto with 31 points.
