iPhone 15 dummy models leak online – and they suggest Apple is launching the flagship smartphone in NINE stunning colours

There are only four days left until Apple unveils its new iPhone 15, but rumors are still coming in fast.

Dummy units obtained by AppleInsider now reveal that the tech giant is likely to launch the iPhone 15 in nine stunning colors.

There are five options for the standard iPhone 15: white, black, yellow, light blue and pink, confirming rumors that Apple is cashing in on the Barbie craze.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models will be launched in four more base colors: white, black, gray and navy blue.

Apple has confirmed it is hosting an unveiling event, but no other details have been officially announced by the tech giant.

Plenty of choice! The realistic dummy units were obtained by AppleInsider, who showed them off in a video on YouTube

AppleInsider host Andrew O’Hara seems confident that these will be the colors fans will see in stores later this month.

He said, ‘How accurate are these color options? That’s a very good question, which we’ll find out clearly in a few days.

‘We have received dummies from this company in the past and they have been completely accurate.

“They match previous rumors that have been reported, so to me these are as accurate as we’re going to get from Apple before the event.”

Apple is expected to unveil four variants of the iPhone 15: the standard model, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and which may or may not be called iPhone 15 Pro Max.

According to the video, five trendy pastel colors will be available for the ‘basic’ models (standard and Plus), while the two high-end iPhone 15 Pro models will have much darker and glossier shades.

The dummies all but confirm another rumor: that all iPhone 15 models will ship with Dynamic Island, the pill-shaped notch at the top of the screen.

Dynamic Island was first introduced last year with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, but could already be seen on all four iPhone 15 models this year.

O’Hara said: “I see the pill cutout here on the iPhone 15 series display – all base models appear to have Dynamic Island.”

It was also recently revealed that the Pro models will have a physical button on the side, if the code in the latest beta for the iOS 17 update is to be believed.

MacRumors, which first spotted the hint in Apple’s code, claims the push button will replace the switch that allows users to turn on and off.

The biggest change to the new iPhone appears to be the introduction of a USB-C charging port, although Apple is forced to do so due to an EU law.

After months of silence, Apple confirmed last week that it will hold a “special event” streamed live from Apple Park in California.

The tech giant has teased fans with a promotional image from the event, codenamed ‘Wonderlust’, which features the Apple logo in a powder gray design.

It’s possible that the Apple logo design in the official promo image is a nod to new materials used to make the phone or one of the available colors.

As for when the iPhone 15 will hit shelves, an Apple insider named Mark Gurman believes the release will take place less than two weeks after the event.

He said he’s been told (by an unnamed source) that the iPhone 15 will go on sale on September 22, meaning Apple will get “about a week’s worth of iPhone 15 sales in the fiscal fourth quarter.”

MailOnline has all the details of Tuesday’s Wonderlust event, which starts at 10am Pacific Time (6pm BST).

September is here and that can only mean one thing: Apple’s next flagship smartphone is ready to be unveiled.

iPhone 15 will launch on September 12 in a livestream hosted by CEO Tim Cook at Apple Park, the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

The tech giant has already teased fans with a promotional image from the event, codenamed ‘Wonderlust’, featuring the Apple logo in a powder gray design.

But like every other iPhone launch, Apple has kept its cards close to its chest – meaning fans have relied on leaks for bits of detail.

The biggest change to the iPhone this year will be the new charging port – called USB-C, which is already commonly used for Android phones, laptops and more.

iPhones currently use Apple’s own power connector technology ‘Lightning’ (top right), recognizable by the eight pins. But Apple will have to comply with a new EU law that makes USB-C (below right) the EU standard. This means that iPhones sold in EU countries must come with USB-C instead of Lightning

Apple made the switch to USB-C and away from its proprietary charging design called Lightning (recognizable by its eight pins) due to an EU law.
