Inside the feud between MAGA darlings Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert

When Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert were elected to Congress in November 2020, they instantly bonded.

Greene and Boebert were also compared for their brash temperament, relative youth compared to most members of Congress, and ability to stir up a MAGA mob.

But Greene doing just that – at a well-known white nationalist’s meeting – and Boebert expressing his displeasure produced the first media reports that the MAGA darlings were not aligned.

That tiff sparked a fight at a House Freedom Caucus meeting near Capitol Hill in March 2022. Back to a screaming bathroom party in January and then this week’s animosity on the House floor, where Greene Boebert had a ‘ little bastard’. ‘

So how did two of the biggest stars of the MAGA movement become mortal enemies?

It was Politics which first reported in April 2022 that 36-year-old Boebert “hates being tied down to her Georgia colleague.”

The story details how the two got in on a March 2022 House Freedom Caucus board meeting over Greene, 49, who appeared at an event in Florida hosted by white nationalist Nick Fuentes, who gained additional notoriety when he dined at Mar – a-Lago days before Thanksgiving with former President Donald Trump and anti-Semitic rapper Kanye West.

Most of MAGAWorld had gathered in Florida to participate in the Orlando-based Conservative Political Action Conference, but only Greene and Rep. Paul Gosar went to the white supremacist event organized by Fuentes.

Sources told Politico that Greene and Boebert’s argument got so heated that people in the room feared it was going to get physical.

Green conceded in an interview with Semafor this week that her feud with Boebert went back “since the last Congress.”

The war in Ukraine also distanced the two congressmen, with Boebert wanting the US to give military aid to Ukraine, and Greene saying “America First” meant they wouldn’t give Ukraine any US tax dollars. according to The Daily Beast.

The divide became much more prominent at the start of the current Congress, when the two women took different sides in the election debacle.

Greene sided with now House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, while Boebert was one of the “never Kevins” who forced the speakership vote to go through 15 rounds.

Boebert finally relented and changed her vote to “present” on the 14th ballot.

Before that, the two women had a fight in the bathroom.

Sources report this to The Daily Beast that “Greene questioned Boebert’s loyalty to McCarthy, and after a few words were exchanged, Boebert stormed out.”

“You were okay with taking millions of dollars from McCarthy, but you refuse to vote for him as Speaker, Lauren?” Greene said, reportedly, as he caught Boebert off guard by emerging from a stall in the women’s bathroom next to the Speaker’s Lobby.

Boebert responded to Greene, “don’t be ugly,” a source said, adding that she “ran out like a little school girl.”

Six months later, their arguments have spilled onto the floor.

During the Wednesday voting, Boebert can be seen approaching the stage, walking past Greene, then bringing it back to her, where the two women are captured by C-SPAN speaking animatedly.

The legislator presiding over the session is heard banging the hammer and saying, “Get your talk off the floor,” as a round of voting closes.

Wednesday at dinner time The Daily Beast had reported what was said.

Greene had alleged that Boebert copied her articles of impeachment rather than merely supporting her bill.

“I did something to you, I defended you. But you’ve been nothing but a little b***h to me,” Greene told Boebert, sources said. “And you copied my articles of impeachment after I asked you to co-sponsor them.”

A GOP legislator who was within earshot told The Beast, “I heard Marjorie Boebert call ab***h right to her face.”

And Greene admitted it on-the-record.

“She’s been a really nasty b***h to me,” the Georgia congresswoman told Semafor.

Greene said Boebert came to her to confront her about telling reporters she believed the Colorado congressman was playing a copycat.

“I was sitting, so I got up and said, ‘I’m happy to clarify my public statements to your face,'” Greene told Semafor. “I’ve told her exactly what I think of her.”

She said Boebert’s solo impeachment attempt was “purely for fundraising.”

“It’s throwing out red meat so people donate to her campaign, because she’s coming up at the end of the month, and she’s trying to produce good fundraising numbers,” Greene said.

Boebert nearly lost her race to Democrat Adam Frisch in November. Frisch is already running into her again.

Greene also said that at one point during the fight, Boebert accused Georgia’s congresswoman of spitting on her lip.

Greene said at another time that Boebert tried to reconnect, and Greene told her to be quiet.

“I said, ‘You need to shut up, because the only person who is acknowledged to speak at this point is [Rep. Anna Paulina] Luna,” Greene remarked.

The video captures Greene and Boebert going about it, until Luna starts talking.

Greene also gave an “absolutely no” to Semafor when asked if a reconciliation was possible.

Boebert was asked about the feud by Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity on Thursday night, insisting it wasn’t as bad as it seems.

“Sean, I didn’t put my life on hold and have my four boys and my now grandson come here and get into fights with people,” Boebert said. “I came here to legislate and to be effective for Coloradans, Coloradans who are suffering from the policies of the Democrats. Marjorie is not my enemy. Joe Biden’s policies, the Democrats, that’s my enemy I’m fighting now.”
