Inside Ella Langley's Country Superstar Makeover After Choosin' Texas Singer Completely Transformed Her Image

Ella Langley may be the biggest thing in music right now, but the Choosin’ Texas hitmaker didn’t always look like a country superstar.

Just a few years before she took over the Billboard charts, the 27-year-old was completely unrecognizable compared to the version of her that exists today.

In a resurfaced TikTok video from 2022, the Alabama-born artist looks like an average small-town girl.

With mousy brown hair instead of her signature bangs and not a trace of makeup on her face, the elder Langley has little in common with the woman who would go on to make music history just four years later.

Fans online have been incredibly supportive of Langley’s transformation, with one writing: ‘She’s a country girl from Alabama! I love that she got her superstar glow. She is absolutely gorgeous.”

Another commented, “If I had a professional to do my makeup and hair, and have that income to spend on luxury items, better food, etc., I’d get a major glow too.”

A third wrote: ‘Have you seen Morgan Wallen’s before and after? That’s the same for all artists. They all glow when they get styling, hair, makeup etc. Why do we only compare women?’

Langley first began to adopt a more glamorous image with the release of her debut studio album Hungover in August 2024.

Her luscious brunette bangs first appeared that year in the music video for her hit country song You Look Like You Love Me.

In an interview with Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, Langley admitted that getting bangs changed “my life” and her career.

She also said that she never intended to debut the striking look, and that it happened organically after she tried to cut her own hair before a concert.

Another major factor in Langley’s makeover is Botox, which the star has received in her jaw in recent years to treat her TMJ.

Botox in the jaw is known to change the shape of the face and can help create a more V-shaped jawline.

Other key players behind Langley’s new look include her creative director Caylee Robillard and her stylist Stefani Colvin.

Together, the pair helped create Langley’s ’70s-inspired country ‘n western wardrobe.

Colvin spoke Rural life about Langley’s transformation and confirmed that she has worked with the singer to help develop her signature look over the years.

“I first started working with her over three years ago, when she had maybe 100,000 followers,” Colvin said.

“We tried to find her vibe and vision and work together on what that would look like. Sometimes she says, ‘I’m your Barbie doll,’ and we just play dress-up.”

Despite its small-town roots, Langley isn’t afraid to experiment with luxury designers.

‘It’s less about specific brands and more about the atmosphere. She loves Roberto Cavalli, both modern and vintage, and she also loves traditional Western pieces,” Colvin explains.

She also admitted that Langley’s recognizable style helped the singer’s breakthrough with her music.

“People are realizing how much further you can go when you have a recognizable brand,” says Colvin.

‘Counter music is taken more seriously. Ella’s music would be successful no matter what – music always comes first – but having a strong visual identity makes everything more powerful,” she continued.

‘You can hear her music and think about her outfits, her glamour, her creative direction and her music videos. It all becomes one coherent package. That’s something she invested in early on, and it’s paying off.”

Langley is currently riding the success of Choosin’ Texas, which just spent its twentieth non-consecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100.

It is now the second-longest running chart topper in United States history, just behind Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You.

Langley currently has two other songs in the top ten of the Hot 100; Be her, and I couldn’t love you more with Morgan Wallen.

Her second album Dandelion debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April and is now the second best-selling album of 2026 so far.

It comes after Langley took home five awards at the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards in May.

The Hope Hull native was named Artist-Songwriter of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, while Choosin’ Texas claimed honors for Song of the Year and Single of the Year.

In addition, Don’t Mind if I Do, Langley’s collaboration with Riley Green, was named Music Event of the Year.

In her Song of the Year speech, Langley said she was “at a loss for words.”

“I’m trying to say something, but I can’t,” an emotional Langley told the audience as she set an ACM record for most wins in a year by a single artist.

The singer, who accepted the award for Female Artist of the Year, named three of the four women she was nominated against: Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert and Kelsea Ballerini. Megan Moroney was also nominated, but was not mentioned by Langley.

“Thank you to the women in this category – to the women in this life. This is a weird thing to do,” she said.

“And today I had a strange day… I walked right into Lainey’s room and she hugged me.”

Langley continued, “And suddenly here comes Miranda Lambert with her pink hat… Kelsea, thank you so much for loving me.

“I wouldn’t be standing here without the encouragement of so many women.”

She added: ‘Thank you to the women – without them I wouldn’t be standing here – so thank you.’

Langley also thanked her “family, for showing up and being weird like always” and Jesus Christ “for letting me do this for a living.”
