Calling all foodies! Could Disney be the place where all your food dreams come true?
The company’s Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando, Florida, is home to Victoria & Albert’s restaurant, which boasts a AAA Five-Diamond rating, with the maximum five stars awarded for its food, service and decor.
In an effort to see what all the fuss is about, YouTube creator Kristen Wright managed to get a seat at the fine dining restaurant by booking 60 days in advance.
Some of the surprising things she discovered during her magical dining adventure included Victoria & Albert’s water menu, with bottles sourced from different parts of the world, and she also tried sea urchin, caviar and quail for the first time.
In a video review of Kristen’s chic dining experience, she explains that a seven-course tasting menu in Victoria & Albert’s main dining room costs $295, while the chef’s tasting menu — which combines two additional main courses — costs $375.

Additionally, there is an optional wine pairing, which costs $155, while a non-alcoholic beverage selection costs $115.
After sitting down with a group of friends, Kristen begins filming her multi-course meal one course at a time.
Two friends also choose the chef’s tasting menu, so she can taste all the creations on offer.
To start, each diner is served three small bites before the main event begins.
Kristen describes each ‘amuse’, which consists of a portion of New Zealand langoustine with mandarin and avocado, ‘a small fried ball with sweet potato, Ibérico ham and persimmon’, and a sandwiched round of deer carpaccio and red meat. cabbage, which she said was her favorite with a “vinegar flavor.”
Moving on to the larger dishes, Kristen’s first course consisted of a dollop of Royal Belgian caviar, served on a bed of pureed parsnips and bone marrow.
She said of the medley, “This was actually the first time I ate caviar. I’ve never had it before. I knew I would probably like it and I was absolutely right.
‘The caviar came on top of a parsnip puree (and it) added a really nice creaminess. They also served it with some chips. I enjoyed putting it on top and eating it all.”

For the second course, Kristen said she was offered “technically two dishes,” one of which was a warm portion of Norwegian king crab in a hollandaise sauce and the other a cold portion of crab in what “almost tasted like pesto butter.” ‘
The YouTube creator said both crab dishes were “really delicious and I think they were two highlights of the meal for me.”
However, the third course also provided a memorable bit, when Kristen tried sea urchin (uni) for the first time.
She said the orange roe came on top of a ‘paste in cream sauce’ and all the ingredients were deliciously creamy. Although she was concerned about how sea urchin would look, she says she will “definitely” order it again in the future.
At this point in the meal, her table companions were presented with their first additional main course, consisting of sea bass “with a toast that almost resembled shrimp.”
For her fourth course, Kristen tried a different ingredient for the first time, with a neatly presented portion of quail, accompanied by sunflower seed risotto and sunchokes.
The Disney fan exclaimed, “I always enjoy trying new things, so I was really excited to try a bunch of new things during this meal.”
She said the quail tasted like a “gamier” version of chicken and she “liked it… (but) didn’t love it.”

It was served with a cherry cola-infused sauce, which she said gave the meat a “sweet and sticky” finish.
While she wasn’t mad about the meat, Kristen said the risotto, made with sunflower seeds instead of rice, was a winning creation, with a “nutty” flavor and “good crunch.”
The final entrée of the seven-course tasting menu consisted of Rocky Mountain lamb served with Sicilian pistachio, leek and olives.
Kristen said, “TThe lamb was so soft and buttery it literally melted in your mouth. The lamb was one of our favorite parts of the meal.
“Personally, I always love lamb chops (but) I’ve never had it served like this before. I definitely really enjoyed this dish.”
While Kristen finished her savory main courses, her two friends got their final meat dish, which consisted of two perfectly cooked slices of Japanese Wagyu beef.
After tasting a forkful, Kristen thought the steak was “phenomenal.”
Unfortunately, the meal was let down somewhat by Kristen’s next course, which included a selection of different cheeses.
Despite being a cheese lover, Kristen said she ended up giving the dish away.
“This was the only course I really didn’t like,” she mused.

According to her, the best dessert was the fastelavnsboller (a Danish carnival roll), which reminded her of a ‘cream puff, only the outside was crispy’.
Overall, Kristen said her dinner at Victoria and Albert’s was good, but she wasn’t blown away
After the cheese, the desserts came in and Kristen decided to order a creamy cocktail with vodka and coffee for $31, and she sampled the espresso martini.
The best dessert, she said, was the fastelavnsboller (a Danish carnival roll), which reminded her of a “cream puff, except the outside was crispy,” while the other sweet offerings included a mini raspberry Bakewell pudding and a gingerbread madeleine.
Overall, Kristen said her dinner at Victoria and Albert’s was good, but she wasn’t blown away.
She explained: ‘There were many standout dishes, but overall there was only one dish that absolutely blew me away.
‘I actually expected to be blown away with every bite I took. I don’t know if I just went in with unreal expectations, but that’s my honest feedback.
‘Anothing i want to say about the food is that we all left pretty much hungry. I know a few of us thought we should go to McDonald’s.
‘I’m not sure if it’s because the meal may have lasted longer than expected… (It was) like a six-hour meal.”
Despite her misgivings, Kristen recommends Victoria & Albert’s because it offers a “unique, super unique experience.”
She also says the level of service throughout was ‘top notch’ and a major reason for returning.
