Sydney influencer Sarah’s Day has revealed she is moving ahead with her controversial ‘Spanish-style’ holiday home, which is set to begin construction in 2025.
The 30-year-old media star, whose real name is Sarah Stevenson, faced backlash over the purchase in March when she first announced it.
But now the mother of two has doubled down, as she revealed in her Instagram Stories on Monday. She and husband Kurt Tilse are in the council approval phase.
‘Home office day. Finish DA [Development Application/Approval] plans for our new Spanish-inspired build,” she wrote as she posed at her dining room table.
In July, Stevenson described the house as “Italian inspired.”

In her second story, Sarah then wrote a summary of her upcoming build, saying she had found the “perfect piece of land” for it.
She added: ‘We are building a unique, Mediterranean villa that will function as our holiday destination, rental space for photo shoots and luxury holiday rentals.
“We are currently finalizing the design to fit into DA 2024, and plan to demolish/construct stars in 2025.”
In July, Sarah teased just a few details about her family’s new home, revealing that it will be built on a large piece of coastal land that she and Kurt purchased in March.
Despite receiving criticism for the purchase earlier this year, the deserving media star, whose real name is Sarah Stevenson, has doubled down, as she revealed in her Instagram Stories on Monday that she and husband Kurt Tilse are in the design stages.
In her second story, Sarah wrote a summary of her upcoming construction project, saying she had found the “perfect piece of land” for it.
She added that the “large holiday home” would be designed to be used as an Airbnb or wedding venue when she and her family are not staying there on holiday.
In July, Sarah had a slightly different inspiration for the new home, as detailed in an Instagram story at the time.
“We’re going for a warm, earthy, Italian-inspired villa,” she said in the caption.
Her inspiring photos showed a sprawling palatial European home finished in stone.
Sarah was criticized on social media after announcing she would buy the land four months ago.
The online personality, who already owns a house in Cronulla, was criticized as the revelation came at a time when so many were struggling with the housing crisis.

“I’m going to share some big life updates that will take up a lot of my time in the coming years and will change our lives forever,” she said.
After revealing her purchase on her YouTube channel, fans turned on Sarah and accused the influencer of being tone deaf.
“I can hardly call that life-changing, lmao. What a privilege in the current crisis that most people are living in right now,” one person wrote.
Another said: ‘There is so much wrong with this. First of all, not exactly life-changing news, right? Just hit the clickbait so we can watch her YouTube video so she can get more views and more money.”
