Astonishing video showing a ‘fake’ influencer pretending to pick up trash on a beach before leaving two bags of trash on the sand sparked online outrage.

The clip titled ‘How to care for the environment’ was uploaded to TikTok on Thursday and has already been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

The footage shows a blonde woman on her haunches picking up rubbish and putting it in black garbage bags, while a second woman films her.

The good deed appears to be all on camera, however, as the influencer then puts down both bags and walks away.

A witness calls out to the women, “Hey, you left the bags there… You did all these weird things with the bags, like pretending to clean up the trash and I’ve been watching you.”

The two women ignore her comments and walk further away.

The video was shot on a beach in Australia.

Radio host Deanna Carbone was falsely linked to the video and posted online to deny that she was the influencer in the clip.

“In case you missed it, I was spearheading a social media attack because someone somewhere decided I saw a video of a girl leaving a bag of rubbish on the beach,” Ms Carbone wrote on Instagram.

“I don’t make that kind of “influencer” content, and never have!

“Myself, and my radio show and colleagues and my company and team have NOTHING to do with this.

“Please share this video, stop trolling me and my colleagues and be nice to each other.”

The man who posted the video, @thesocialjokr, also said the death threats and level of hate in the comments section of the video were “unhinged.”

“Ultimately, what these people did in the video is very wrong and everyone has every right to be angry and outraged. I find it outrageous and completely unacceptable,” he said.

“I personally … I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and pray that they’re just uneducated and unaware of the consequences of their actions.”

He added that there was no “zero” evidence to suggest it was Ms. Carbone in the video and feels bad that she was falsely targeted by online trolls.
