Influencer Gracie Piscopo has revealed that a ruptured appendix landed her in the hospital over Easter, leaving her legion of followers to fear for her health.
The model’s partner, Andre Rebelo, was arrested and charged last year in the May 2020 death of his mother Colleen, 58, in Perth.
On Monday, Ms Piscopo shared photos of herself on Instagram showing her in a hospital bed and with a monitor on her finger.
“Not the Easter weekend plans I had in mind,” she wrote to her 1 million followers.
She then revealed the reason for her hospitalization – she had to have emergency surgery overnight for a burst appendix.

“Thank you to everyone for reaching out and sending love,” she wrote.
“I’ve slept pretty much all day and I’ll call you back as soon as I can.”
A ruptured appendix can cause serious complications, including peritonitis — a potentially fatal infection in the lining of the abdomen — or septicemia, a serious blood infection.
Symptoms of appendicitis include sharp pain in the lower right abdomen, fever, vomiting, and loss of appetite.
The mother of one child said she had been in “the worst” pain for three days before learning of the serious health condition.
Ms Piscopo said she would be taking a break from social media as she recovered from her surgery
“I had emergency surgery last night, hoping to recover quickly,” she said.
She told her followers she would be “a little MIA” from social media as she recovered from the shock surgery.
The model returned to her Instagram account in February after a hiatus following Rebelo’s shock arrest.
Ms Piscopo once shared numerous photos of the couple during trips and exclusive events, but he has been notably absent from her social media posts since charges were filed against him.
The couple dated for eight years and shared a three-year-old son, Romeo.

Rebelo, a cryptocurrency trader, was indicted by homicide detectives in November 2022, more than two years after Ms. Rebelo’s body was discovered in her million-dollar Bicton home on May 25, 2020.
The 26-year-old, from Perth, has also been charged with five counts of forging documents with intent to defraud.
Rebelo is accused of falsifying medical records related to his mother, including requests for information, a death certificate and her will.
Last month it was revealed that Rebelo would likely have his charges combined, meaning he would face one jury for all charges if the case went to trial.
He is due to appear in court in April.
