Indiana nuptials descends into chaos with groom in jail and one person shot after guest is seen ‘flirting’ with woman who wasn’t his wife

An Indiana wedding descended into chaos with the groom and another man in jail, while a third man ended his night in the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand.

The groom, Corey Parker, was arrested outside Cornerstone Hall, in Salem, Indiana, on May 18, shortly after celebrating his wedding.

But the party saw police arrive at the front desk after a guest called 911 to report how Parker had shot her boyfriend after a confrontation and argument with another man, Jonathon Goff.

Parker told police how the drama started after his bride, Bethany Parker, left the wedding venue to return to the Cobblestone Hotel with Goff’s wife Nicole.

Parker explained how Goff had an argument with his own wife after he was accused of flirting with the shooting victim’s wife, Patrick McIntosh.

Just as Parker was about to leave, he and Goff started fighting each other in the parking lot.

Parker was sitting in his car when Goff aggressively approached him. Parker claimed he thought Goff was trying to get his gun from the car’s center console.

It was during the struggle, while both men had the gun in their hands, when it suddenly went off, shooting McIntosh in the hand. He was not seriously injured.

Parker said he did not know where McIntosh had come from, but assumed he was trying to intervene in the struggle over the gun.

Just as Corey Parker, left, was about to leave, he and Goff, a fellow guest, started fighting each other in the parking lot.

Corey Parker is now charged with assault and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. Marriage records show that Corey and wife Bethany have been legally married as of 2022

The fight allegedly started after Goff’s wife and Parker’s bride both returned to the Cobblestone Hotel & Suites in Salem, Indiana, after Goff flirted with another man’s wife.

Parker said he didn’t pull the trigger, but reached for the gun because Goff was “beating him up.”

“In all the rustling and commotion, the gun went off,” Parker said.

McIntosh’s girlfriend was the one who called 911 and explained to Indiana State Police that she thought it was a drunken accident and that she and everyone else were all drunk.

Parker continues to maintain that the shooting was an accident and is charged with punching Goff in the face and reckless shooting.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.

Parker now faces charges of assault and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. The marriage certificate shows that Parker and his wife have been legally married since 2022.

Parker was found not guilty in court and was released on a $3,000 cash bond.

Goff was also arrested on the same charges of assault and criminal recklessness. He has also pleaded not guilty and received a $3,000 bond.

Both men had visible injuries and witnesses said they were fighting.

The couple will stand trial in September, but will appear in court again next month.
