A 25-year-old man stopped growing at the age of five due to a rare condition and now has to be carried around by his mother.

Standing just 24 centimeters tall and weighing just 7 kg, Ravi Kumar is considered one of the smallest adults in India.

Kumar, who hails from Jhansi, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, is the only member of his family with stunted growth.

His family said they took him to a doctor as a young child after he stopped growing physically at the age of five.

His mother, who now carries him around on her hip, said they heard he was suffering from a “thyroid disease” that was stunting his growth.

Dwarfism is a medical condition characterized by significantly shorter stature compared to average height.

It is usually caused by genetic factors, hormonal imbalances, or medical conditions that affect bone growth.

Although individuals with dwarfism may face physical challenges, they can live fulfilling lives with the same opportunities and aspirations as people of average height.
